Cameron Higgins 14/18, 145 yds, 8.1 avg, 1 TD :D :D :D

Tim Toone leads five receivers with 80 yards on 4 receptions. :D :D :D

Trevyn Smith 46 yds and a rushing TD. Smith also caught the TD pass. :D :D :D

Williams is 1/1 FG and 2/2 PAT. :D :D :D

Our defense has pressured Funaki relentlessly since mid-first quarter, forcing two punts, two missed field goals, and a fumble. :D :D :D

In the second half, Tyler Graunke came off the bench to replace Funaki at QB for the Warriors. Graunke brought the Hawaii offense back to life to score 29 points, 13-of-20 for 218 yards and tying his career high with three touchdown passes.

It must have inspired the Hawaii defense, which shut out the Wildcats for the remainder of the contest, intercepting two passes, and allowing just 73 yards and four first downs in the second half.

The final score was Hawaii 36, Weber State 17.

The failure to come away with the win was a big disappointment, but it was a great game, and hopefully provided lots of useful lessons learned for the rest of the season!

Great game u guys. I knew coming into this game that this was gonna be really competitive. I think if you guys were in the WAC, u guys could beat the lower half of the conference. I'm just glad we don't have to play u guys again. Well good luck with the rest of the season.

Thank you for the gracious words, couz! Funaki was good, but I think your Warriors may have finally found the recipe for success with Graunke. Hope he stays on the straight and narrow.

Best wishes for your own season, too! Beat Oregon State next week, will ya? :)

Cheers!

Did WSU suffer any major injuries in this game? I didnt notice Etuatei or Smith very much in the 2nd half, are they ok?

What a game, even though it ended in a loss there are some big time positives that the Cats can build on. Higgins of course shows why hes the starter, looking great and putting the ball right where it needs to be. Tim Toone, Wow what a performance, I loved that inside slant route. Of course T. Smith and Eteuati played well but what happened to them in the second half I can't find any report on them. The defense looked real good up front forcing a couple of fumbles and getting good pressure on the QB. Linebackers and DB's did about as good of job as could be expected considering the type of offense UH runs. Oh yeah the new uniforms are a major improvement.

Scouring the news reports all I saw were they both had ankle injuries. I don't know how serious they are but lets hope they were just being careful and that both players will be ready to go this week.

It was a tough hard fought game and I think we can take a lot of positives back from the islands to get us ready for the rest of the season.

P.S. What in the world was our long snapper doing, he had a terrible game, game time must have been past his bedtime.

Recurring problem. Can't remember exactly, but I think one of the wide receivers was pressed into sercvice as long snapper. Hope it gets better!

Standard Examiner says today that Smith had cramping issues... Must have been dehydrated.
