I always buy season tickets, not sure if im going to buy some next year. Looks like I need to look for a new team to be a fan of.

Here we go again.... I can't believe some of the negative vibes some of you so called fans throw out . Yes we had a stroke of bad luck this year. Yes it was disappointing BUT, i submit that a TRUE fan sticks through the tough times as well. I am not nor have I ever been one to jump ship just because my team has a bad year. It's the easiest thing in the world to root for your team when they are winning.

Try a little REAL support some time. You just might enjoy the game a lot better as a whole. I like winning as much as the other guy but I'm not taking out my hari-cari knife over a few losses. There are way too many things in life that are more important than a win/loss record.

I support the coaching choice 100%. I like the way Coach Sears handles the team on the sidelines. I like that he runs a disciplined program. All our young players learned a lot this year and I believe it will be a difference maker come next season. I say let Coach make the program his own and we'll be flying high again real soon. As for not wanting to get season tix...that's your choice. With that attitude...who needs you at the games anyway? The family pass season ticket deal is STILL the best entertainment value in this valley bar none.

If this seems harsh, I just call em as i see em. I am not trying to make enemies...just being realistic.

GOOOOOO WILDCATS!

This mentality of yours is the one of a loser. I understand your faithfulness but with our wildcats not having a winning season this effects all of us. I live in Ogden and have been a proud WSU fan for a very long time, when they are successful our community really comes together. I know coach sears was put into a very difficult situation but the way we are headed is straight into the ground. Bovee doesn't care about this program, why havent we been more informed of our Wildcats. Constant updates on whats going on, why dont we do a better job of marketing WSU I think I have seen one sign advertising the wildcats. It just doesn't make sense why are the people in the office not working harder to make this program more successful. These coaches do not have experience in winning and thats why I feel we need changes not only coaches but a new AD. Bovee was responsible for hiring John L. Smith so obviously he doesn't know how to pick good coaches. Weber State University is heading straight into the ground!

We all fell for JLS, including Arkansas. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I don't blame Bovee at all for that fiasco, look at how many failed basketball coaches the U of U has gone thru under Chris Hill since Majerus left town. I agree with the forum members that have pointed out the improvements that have been made during his tenure. I think that this year sucked but I am looking forward to next year to see what Sears can do with his new staff.

If you really are a long time fan you can't even compare the game day experience now with how it was in the 90's, and even up to 2-3 years ago, it was a ghost town before games, tailgating was non-existant and crowds were even sparser. The local businesses have a vested interest in the success of WSU and have been out in force with free food, activities, etc. I think it's been great, but Weber needs to make good strides and it will be tough with a new QB at the helm. We have a right to complain when our team is down, but that doesn't mean we have to give up supporting them.

You're right...things have a better chance for improving than not...take a deep breath & think about it...Bovee made some valid points for giving it a chance...and some new football staff make me feel better...but yes, mistakes are made, it's life and it is really how you move on that counts...I'm guilty too as a fan for ranting, raving and wanting to light a torch & storm the castle! It's normal & got to luv it as interested sports fans. Yank at & wring the growl towels, blow off steam, but don't lite the torches just yet. GO WILDCATS!!! :|

Attitude of a loser? I feel sorry for your twisted view. NO...WINNERS work harder in tough times. They don't roll under the fence looking for greener grass at the face of adversity. I completely understand ALL the business and financial ramifications. Trust me, I want this program to flourish like a rose. But SHEEESH, dude... Go find your miracle "win every game" team to root for. USU would be a good one this year. We'll see how fast you bail from that program when it has a reality check and becomes mediocre again. I hope USU stays on top. I really do because it helps us all...just as WSU getting back in contention for a BSC trophy will help us all But, If that's all you measure success is by wins and losses. Good luck.
My greater joy is being at games, hanging with family & friends there and
enjoying each others company. I feel that Coach Sears will do an awesome job of building this program and also in building men. THAT is what has meant more than everything else. Would I rather be 10-2, 11-1, 12-0 every year? Would I rather win the conference trophy year in and year out? OF COARSE I WOULD!
Reality bites sometimes but, in the whole scheme of life, it's just a game.

I was disappointed by the 2012 season but I did have a lot of fun at the 4 games I was able to attend with my kids. We will be back next year no matter how the team performs simply because we're fans and have a good time at the games no matter how the Wildcats perform. The pre-game festivities have got us to the games earlier and made them more enjoyable. They're much funner to attend now than 5 years ago.

I don't know if retaining Sears was a good idea or not. All I can do is hope that now that there's some stability in the program things will improve,

And though I think we can do better than this year, I don't have high hopes for next year. Look at the first 8 games:

Stephen F. Austin
@Utah (FBS)
@Utah State (FBS)
@McNeese St. (kicked our trash this year)
Sacramento State
@Eastern Washington (made playoffs this year)
@Cal Poly (made playoffs this year)
Montana State (made playoffs this year)

Big progress would be able to win 3 of those games. But win or lose, I'll be watching and cheering for the guys in Purple because I'm no fair weather fan.

It sucks. From what I hear the players didn't like the coaches either. But the new hire of the OC is a good hire. Hopefully Jody can turn it around. I am not jumping ship by any means. I will like them and cheer for them through this. Even though I don't think Jody Sears was the right guy for this team.

Wow! Those are some really big accusations. If you had knowlege of NCAA rule violations, why didn't you step forward? It's really easy to make statements on a forum like this. I'm sure that Bovee will listen to you. Step up and back up your words. Or, if you are just speculating, keep it to yourself.

fan;

If you are withholding information of that nature, you are a big part of the problem, and not part of the solution. Once again, the best forum for that sort of thing is in the AD's office, and not bitching about it on this forum. The AD can tell you if he has that info or not. If you are not comfortable talking to the AD, you can also talk to the Compliance Officer or coach Sears. Compliance reviews this site often. You could send them a private message from this forum if that is easier. At some point, you are just as guilty if you choose to do nothing.

i agree. please contact weber state compliance about any ncaa violations. no need to sweep any known issues under the rug. this isn't penn state.

also, please note the forum rules below which include talking to prospective players or signees that haven't started class since you do know players. you could be committing an ncaa violation by accident.

as for our AD and the future of our programs, as a fan, i feel very fortunate for the AD we do have and the coaches in our programs. i am so thankful to be a weber fan. imagine being an isu fan. no offense bengals.

:blah: :blah: :loser: Yes go become a Ute or Cougar fan since they both had such stellar seasons. :ohno: :ohno:

All, I just wanted to let you know that I have sent a private message to the poster to see if he or she is willing to disclose any information. We take all allegation of violations very seriously and will investigate any information that is shared that could raise the potential of a violation.

No, I think we should light the torches - the battle torches for next season! I've been one to say Sears should be gone this year, too. But, I do think that now that this team is his and that Hammer will no longer be controlling the game by taking the heart out of both sides of the ball, and that because Rosenbach will be a really good addition to the team, that success will begin almost immediately. Forget 're-building', if you look at the roster, we should be a force next year, and beyond.

Look at the two-deep roster for the Idaho State game posted on the website. On defense, we only lose 5 seniors out of the 22 listed and only 3 of those were #1's. We have 6 jrs, 4 sophs, 2 Rfr and 5 true fr returning. 2 of the sophs and 2 of the Rfr were #1's. That doesn't even include Epperson (jr) and King (soph) who were both starters b/f injury!

Similar story on offense. We lose 7 seniors, but only 4 were #1's. There are 7 jrs, 6 sophs, 1 Rfr, and 2 true fr returning. 6 of the underclassmen (fr/rfr/soph) were starters, including both true freshmen! Plus that doesn't include Kehano (jr) and nakamura (jr) who I think were starters before injured.

Even 8 of the listed 12 special teams guys return - parham, Gooden and the 2 long snappers are the only the exceptions. And, I've heard some great things about the fresh who didn't play this year.

Add it up. Adding in the injured starters to that 2-deep list, WSU has 19 of the two-deep defense, 18 of the 2-deep offense, the starting punt and kick returners, and the punter and kicker, ALL returning! And I've heard that Adamchyk and Maraz are both very good, if not potential all-conference type QBs, and that many were actually calling for Adamchyk to replace Hoke midway through.

So....Everyone should be extremely fired up about next season, not all down and negative. Only IF these coaches can't turn that kind of returning talent into a big-time winner, should they be all be swept out. Until then, get yourself, your family, your friends, your dog, and everyone else you can think of on the dang bandwagon and let's get it going warp speed towards the SFA game! Make some POSITIVE noise people.

OK Wildcatpast, can't argue against that! Light up those battle torches & hopefully the sun shines on WSU football in 2013-2014. Good analysis you provided on returning team...hope it holds.

I look forward to next season. I hated this season but I will still come to games. This is not the wrost team I haved cheered for. I was a UCF fan a few years ago when they went winless. Now they go to bowl games alot. If you had told me that they would become a good program I would have told it won't happen. I can see it happening to Weber too.
