You're right...things have a better chance for improving than not...take a deep breath & think about it...Bovee made some valid points for giving it a chance...and some new football staff make me feel better...but yes, mistakes are made, it's life and it is really how you move on that counts...I'm guilty too as a fan for ranting, raving and wanting to light a torch & storm the castle! It's normal & got to luv it as interested sports fans. Yank at & wring the growl towels, blow off steam, but don't lite the torches just yet. GO WILDCATS!!! :|
No, I think we
should light the torches - the battle torches for next season! I've been one to say Sears should be gone this year, too. But, I do think that now that this team is his and that Hammer will no longer be controlling the game by taking the heart out of
both sides of the ball, and that because Rosenbach will be a really good addition to the team, that success will begin almost immediately. Forget 're-building', if you look at the roster, we should be a force next year, and beyond.
Look at the
two-deep roster for the Idaho State game posted on the website. On defense, we only lose 5 seniors out of the 22 listed and only 3 of those were #1's. We have 6 jrs, 4 sophs, 2 Rfr and 5 true fr returning. 2 of the sophs and 2 of the Rfr were #1's. That doesn't even include Epperson (jr) and King (soph) who were both starters b/f injury!
Similar story on offense. We lose 7 seniors, but only 4 were #1's. There are 7 jrs, 6 sophs, 1 Rfr, and 2 true fr returning. 6 of the underclassmen (fr/rfr/soph) were starters, including both true freshmen! Plus that doesn't include Kehano (jr) and nakamura (jr) who I think were starters before injured.
Even 8 of the listed 12 special teams guys return - parham, Gooden and the 2 long snappers are the only the exceptions. And, I've heard some great things about the fresh who
didn't play this year.
Add it up. Adding in the injured starters to that 2-deep list, WSU has 19 of the two-deep defense, 18 of the 2-deep offense, the starting punt and kick returners, and the punter and kicker,
ALL returning! And I've heard that Adamchyk and Maraz are both very good, if not potential all-conference type QBs, and that many were actually calling for Adamchyk to replace Hoke midway through.
So....Everyone should be extremely fired up about next season, not all down and negative. Only
IF these coaches can't turn that kind of returning talent into a big-time winner, should they be all be swept out. Until then, get yourself, your family, your friends, your dog, and everyone else you can think of on the dang bandwagon and let's get it going warp speed towards the SFA game! Make some POSITIVE noise people.
