"This league doesn't press a lot full-court," Rahe said, "so you work on it in practice but until you see it in a game you're not really ready for it.

"I thought it kind of threw us a little off guard. They did a great job in it. They got really aggressive. It got them right back in the game but when it mattered most down the end, we got our poise back, got the ball in and took care of it."

We won our last game and we won in a tough environment and we won against a team that had to win," Rahe said.

Huh, interesting comments.
1) Was the full-court press a surprise to Rahe?
2) I'm not sure I would consider EWU a tough environment

A bit overstated wouldn't you say? Or a bit over congratulatory? Was holding my breath for the last 4 minutes of that game, thinking NOT AGAIN!!!!!! Oh well, let's be positive. :)

I just watched the last 5 minutes of the EW game again. I don't think the come back by EW was really the fault of Weber. There were 4 consecutive fouls called on Weber, but they were ticky tack at best . Plus there were at least 2 no calls that really hurt Weber. These alone allowed EW to narrow the lead. There were only two turnovers caused by the press towards the end of the game. Most the time weber as able to break it (at least during the last 5 minutes). So, it almost seemed like the home cooking got going that allowed EW to get back in the game. I am not as worried after watching this again. But, I have wonder which Weber team will show up this week. The one the lost to ISU, SAC, NAU, etc. or the one that beat EW, UM, and UND, et al.
