Weber State - NAU in-game thread

This is a cry for help, WSU fans. Stuck at work with no radio or internet video (bigskytv.org) coverage of the game. I can follow gametracker/stats but the NAU site isn't loading at the moment. Work has espn.com blocked and foxsports.com's and cnnsi.com's college football score pages are utter shite. An occasional update from any Wildcats would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks, Wildcat. I'm guessing with how slow WSU's football board is that the fan's focus must be on the hoops match up with Utah State tonight?

Touchdown Jacks, 13-7 NAU.

No problem MT Jack, I dont know why the board is so slow, the WSU/USU game doesnt Start for another 3 hours.

Another LumberJack down Osheroff #25

Weber muffs lumberjack punt but get it back. Weber gets ball doesnt do anything with it, Punts

NAU has ball now, moving easily again.

11 Yard touchdown run, 20-7 Jacks

Livestats is finally up and running. Looks like NAU has the advantage on offensive stats so far but the score is still reasonably close.

More than one injury today? Not good. NAU's new turf has seemingly resulted in fewer nasty knee injuries than that old fuzzy concrete they had in the past. Do you remember the other player who got hurt?

Is Higgins playing at full strength?

Wildcat - Attending the WSU-Utah State game tonight? WSU and USU are two college hoops destinations on my dream list to see a game. I've seen Big Sky games in Portland, Missoula and Bozeman but Ogden seems to get the best support for hoops.

NAU stops Weber, Weber kicks and makes first 40+ yard field goal of season, 20-10 Jacks 39 seconds left in first half.

I dont remember who, but he was an offensive lineman for the Jacks.

Higgins is playing at full strength, he's moving around rather well, but Weber is still trying to establish the run vs the best run defense in the Sky, and its not working.

No Im not attending, I will probably never attend another game at the Spectrum, it isnt a very fan friendly place to be, the last time I was there my family got treated very badly, not a place I like going to anymore.

Sorry to hear that about USU. Does their collective fanbase act worse than U of Utah/BYU's?

I attend one UofA hoops game a year (when they play NAU) and a few other random games each year at ASU (they don't/won't schedule NAU anymore after losing to the Jacks in Tempe 4-5 years ago...cowards). I have never received any negative treatment at either venue. Football's a different story. Not too fond of the hordes of drunken ASU frat guys but they're mostly hot air. I'm not a big fan of the south endzone fans in Tucson and am hesitant to sit in that section again, especially if my niece and sister are in attendance.

The only Big Sky venue I will avoid like the plague from this point on is the U of Montana student section during football. Walked past it when I saw the game there 3 years ago and that was enough for me.

Pretty sure that NAU's average fan is too mellow/indifferent to truly be an over-the-top jerk to another team. Sports just aren't that big in Flagstaff.

Utah State's students are just like Montana's, they are all arrogant punks. I have a few friends that are USU fans, so I know USU has at least 2 good fans, but thats it.

The overwhelming majority of U of M fans I met when I lived up there were actually reasonable people. www.egriz.com is not always a realistic representation of their fanbase. The UofM students seem to be spoiled rotten with their football success, though. A feeling of entitlement permeates from them. The southeast student section of the stadium drinks like professionals and that's right where they've stuck the WSU supporters when you guys play in Missoula. That probably isn't a coincidence either. I'm not 18-24 anymore so my tolerance to be around drunken, rude college kids has gone way down.

Back to the game: I haven't seen Giovannie Dixon run like this all year. He's a man possessed this drive. This game is far from over as each team is showing the ability to run up and down the field now but slowing down once in the red zone. NAU's pass defense is not what their run defense is.

what's going on with the Offense? Hoke can throw pretty well, we are digging our own grave. O line needs to block somebody and give our backs a chance........

If Weber keeps throwing, they have a chance. If they keep trying to run, not so much. NAU's pass D is, err, lacking. Far from over.
