Pretty sweet recognition for the Cats. Gotta be proud of the programs success and tradition.

There are a bunch of guys who could be put into the 8 they gave ESPN...Todd Harper, Bob Davis, Al Hamilton, Stan Mayhew, Jimmie Watts, Mark Mattos, Ruben Nembhard, Robbie Johnson, Stan Rose, Lance Allred, Justin Thighpen, etc, etc, etc.

I am glad to see that the 'Cats are getting some national attention. I would not change any of the starting five or bench players even though there are others that could vie for a position on those eight. It is also good to see us ahead of some power house schools.
Wow! This is great! Weber State has such a great history and tradition with basketball. Good to see some respect from national media.
Living in Pac-12 country now with a school that has little history or tradition in basketball, I miss my days of going to the Dee Events Center (it's an amazing college facility still at 30+ years old) to watch Wildcat Basketball. Sometimes I think the Ogden community doesn't really understand what they have and what it could still be and takes the program for granted.
In basketball, Weber State does not need to be the little brother to Utah State or even the Utes or YBU for that matter. Having said that I think the program and the support for the program are moving in a positive direction. Hopefully the momentum from the past few years will continue.
As a sidenote.... I remember taking my wife (who is a YBU grad and lifelong YBU fan) to her first game at the Dee Events Center about 10 years ago. We walked in the doors and the first words out of her mouth were "Wow! This is so nice!" She was blown away by what a great facility the DEE Events Center is. I've been to a lot of college basketball facilities around the country and the DEE can compete with or is better than any I've been to.

I agree with you 100%. It's a process, but we are really putting a solid program together. The blueprint is out there. Bradley, Gonzaga, and a few other mid majors have shown the way. We were helped a lot by getting a player like Lillard. Our recruiting has and is continuing to get better because good players are seeing the vallue in standing out and being seen early in their careers. We've been recruiting against some high major programs, and coming out on top. Every year the talent level gets better. How far it will go? I don't know, but I'm enjoying all of it. :nod:
