Weber State vs NAU

Let’s see if the Wildcats can keep the momentum going.

They should have a goal to finish fifth to get a first round bye. It will be awfully tough to make that.

Call me crazy, but I think they can win 5 of the 7 remaining games. A big if, but they seemed to have turned a corner. Not going to bet more than a fun sized candy bar on it, but it is possible ( I wouldn’t have said that three weeks ago).

Every time they put a couple of wins together, I get a bit excited, but I only see one more possible road win (Idaho)...Montana, EWU, and Montana State look like losses. Rahe’s teams never do well vs the Portland State press, and SUU will be wanting revenge for their cold shooting night vs. WSU. I could see them losing five...at best they win 4 (beat MSU and Idaho on road, ISU at home and split SUU and Portland State. I think they win 3 more and miss out on the top 5.

They almost blew a 19 point lead yesterday, so that kind of took the luster off their back-to-back wins.

According to my math then...the Wildcats can only afford 1 more loss to end up with a overall regular season record above .500 (non-Div I included). So given predictions, this ends up as Rahe's 2nd overall losing regular season record as HC ?? :twocents:

The Griz game is actually an interesting match up.

2 in form teams and cats with something to prove.

Sensing a slight upset here.

Money line at only 4/1 tho, not as much as I thought.

3/1 on half time money line seems better.

So much for that! If anything is proven it's that this Wildcat team is overmatched without Harding & playing a good, competitive opponent. Outcoached as well, which is nothing new in the Rahe/Duft era. Ugh! Hate to see these beatings...are there more awaiting? :ohno:

Yes, in the form of many years of beatings to come.

Look, WSU basketball is like Sears Roebuck and Company. For the first 10 years, Rahe used Flashcards (Sears catalogs), and things were fresh and creative. Then other teams caught on to the scheme and nearly put us out of business (Amazon=Montana). Rahe tried to switch things up by going to the Internet sales (no Flashcards), but sales and offense still sucked. The website (offense) wasn’t user friendly. As the company was on a steep decline, loyal fans still purchased clothing (season tickets) Landsend, even though that style of clothing went out years ago (oldrunner). There were some coaching changes (differnt CEO’s, etc.), but Sears stuck with the President and Vice President (Rahe/Duft). Sears went under because of lack of customer service (old IBM registers, horrendous manager, bad products, terrible forced on you warranties ((coaches speak)), and old ways that couldn’t keep up with Walmart (USU), Amazon (UM), and other retail giants. Facts are facts. Sears was in life support of Craftsman and Kenmore. Greats tools and machines. But overtime, too pricey and too difficult to maintain (Lillard, Joel, and soon to be Harding). WSU tried new players, but many are run off or or told to play elsewhere (Cannon, Gittens, missionaries, etc.), just like Sears wouldn’t go for newer lines or new ideas/products. In the end, Sears is left dead. Filed bankruptcy, and only a handful remain in operation (season ticket holders/boosters). This is the same path we see with WSU basketball. A once storied program, that is on its way to the bottoms of basketball world. And yet, we sit here waiting for a huge investor to step up and not wanting to potentially offend him (Lillard). Time to cut ties. Listen to the data analysis folks (fans, community, etc.) and can Rahe. Cut the head off of the snake. We have been in the red as a program for a few years now. Time to clean house, bring in a youthful coach, and get rid of all the red tape and excuses. Rahe=Sears Roe. and Company. Failure and prideful in the same.
