Weber State

I don't know how great McNeese State is supposed to be this year, but they are owning Weber right now. They're down by 4 TD's, although it looks like they'll score one in garbage time.

A win in Ogden would be a huge way to start out conference play going into the home opener against Montana. In fact, it's probably a must-win for both teams.

I def would consider it a huge game, especially for EWU bc of the the one game losing streak.. a win vs Wazzu was almost expected, seeing how EWU manhandled (weak fbs) Idaho.

Every game is a huge game. Especially this one; need to shake the loss from last week and come out strong in our conference opener. Can't be in a 2 game skid coming into the Griz game... Grizzlies have a keen smell for blood.

Weber gave up 557 yards of offense tonight, including 300 on the ground.

Way to go Jody!

Weber will be looking for their first win. They don't want to start 0-4. EWU needs the victory simply because it's a conference game and a springboard to the Montna game. I have a feeling EWU comes out with a vengeance. They know they let WSU off the hook. Be there in Ogden and support the Eags.

I'm a little worried about coming out flat after the bye and on the road. Time for the team leaders to step it up.

Looking at last year's stats (as they've only played 2 FBS teams and McNeese so far), they ran it well as suspected, passed it decently, but whoof did their defense stink. 118 in pass defense and 110 in total D.

As a Weber fan I am expecting a total ass kicking in this game. Our offense is absolutely BRUTAL this year plus we lost or best WR due to broken leg vs McNeese. I'm pretty sure our offensive coordinator rides the short bus to work every day. :dunce: Our defense was on the field all night long and apparently cant stop the run OR the pass despite the fact we are using the ridiculous 4-2-5 alignment.
On a separate note though, are any Eagle fans coming down to the game? If so would any of you be interested in a t-shirt swap? I am looking to collect a shirt from every Big Sky school and I don't have an EWU one yet.

That's cool. I'd bring you a shirt if I was going and you had something other than an oil rag to trade. The problem you're facing is trying to find someone who would want a Weber shirt... :-)

Does anyone know if the game is being shown anywhere or if a place is having a watch party?

Q Bar at Quest Casino, and probably Swinging Doors in Spokane.

Eagles Pub, Northern Quest, and Swinging Doors will all be having watch parties...

Baldwin and linebacker Ronny Hamlin had one word for the Weber’s offense: “physical.”

“Just their physical presence,” Baldwin said. “They want to outphysical you, so you have to hit them right back in the mouth.”

“They’ll try to run it down our throats,” Hamlin said. “They’re a good team, but we’re ready for them.”

Notes

Even as practice ended at about 6:20 p.m., workers were still toiling on the new video scoreboard, which is expected to be ready for the Montana game on Sept. 29. … Running back Demitrius Bronson was in full pads and is expected to play Saturday after missing the first two games with an injured hamstring. Wide receiver Greg Herd is recovered from a concussion suffered at Washington State, but defensive end Paul Ena is doubtful this week after hurting his wrist at WSU.

Just an FYI, the big screen at the Q sports bar is out or order for tomorrows EWU watch party. Swinging Doors and Eagles Pub are the only two options now.
