Weber vs EWU - Hoops

Weber State vs EWU rivalry was growing until Giacoletti took off for Utah.

Your former coach went to 5 str8 big sky title games for those that dont know - 00,01,02,03,04 - and going to the NCAA tourney in 2004.

There was some great games between WSU and EWU during that time but now its nothing like how it was. I would love to see those days again and I think there is a chance now that you have Earlywine. Earlywine was at Weber during EWU's Giacoletti years.

If you asked a student in 2004 what basketball games they looked forward to most they would likely say Utah State and then EWU!

In 2003 we even had 10,000 fans at a regular season game vs EWU...I don't remember when the last time that happened was not including the Big Sky Tourney? Maybe the 80's.

I'm sure glad Stuckey is gone but I hope to see some good EWU teams in the next few years.

well even having stuckey, we still never made it to the dance...after losing to an NAIA team this year, i'm not feeling that good. we wont more games than i expected last year, and that wasn't even a full roster

I wish Giacoletti would leave Gonzaga and come back to EWU...though I guess I better than dis Earlywine. He was good at Weber. Lets see what he can do.

Earlywine will not be the next Giacoletti. He will be released after this season if he does not make the BSC tourney. From what I know, he was going to be let go after last season, but he fought to keep his job for one more season. I hope he does well this year. If we can get healthy by BSC play and all JC transfers can mesh together, we might have a chance for the last seed in the tourney. The loss the other night to a NCAA division 2 power house was not good for our confidence. I am not reading to much into the loss, just look what happened to Syracuse when they lost a ex game to a no one. They ran the table that year!
