Weber's Rahe wins Big Sky coach of the year

He was great on Rome. I wish he was this candid when he speaks with local reporters. He doesn't typically open up to them like he did with Rome. Usually just a lot of cliches.

SOMEONE BEST POST SOMETHING ON THIS SITE ABOUT IT!! Come on Hawks get'er done as Bengalhater would say (or more appropriately yell).

It's called an internet search. Not hard to find.

Wazzu looking for a new HC. Does Rahe or Tinkle get a look? Probably not after the coach they just fired came from the Big Suck.

Hopefully Wazzu is staying as far away from the Sky as possible. But the worry is, they are probably going to start looking for a new coach in the WCC or MW ranks, who in turn might look for a new coach in the Big Sky ranks. Tinkle isn't going anywhere. He isn't going to leave UM. As for Randy...it has been a concern since his first season. He is a hell of a coach, and we all know eventually, he might leave.

Being that WAZZU is my second favorite team, I follow them as much as Weber State. It seemed inevitable that they were going to make a change after the season. Reading a few articles about who the next coach will be I highly doubt they would make a run at Coach Rahe. He has no ties to the West or the Pac 12 conference. Now if a mid-west school had a opening I would be a little worried. It seems like Wazzu is going to go for a big name like they did in football with Coach Leach a couple years ago. Also, it sounds like they want a younger energy type guy. You never know, but I just don't see Wazzu looking at Rahe. I love the Cougs, but our Bball team is just down right pitiful. I don't know if Rahe would even want it. They pay would be really good. Probably around 1 million a year, but Wazzu will be in a major rebuilding faze for at least 2-3 years before they will be a middle of the road Pac 12 team. They are that bad. They only scored 25 points total in a game against Arizona. 25 POINTS!!!!!!

Katz @ Sacramento State and Murphy @ NAU are about the only other two coaches I could think of nominating. They both seemed to overachieve (at least based on media and conference coaching expectations) this season.

Rahe is well deserving of this award.

By the way...WSU faithful represented well for the Big Sky Conference championship game. I enjoyed listening to Damian Lillard converse with the announcers about his love for WSU.
