Week 12: Sac State vs Portland State

The Hornets welcome Portland State for the final home game of the season. This will be everyone’s last chance to see the best QB-WR tandem in Hornet history play in Hornet Stadium as well as 16 other seniors who have put in hard work over the past few years.

This is another must win for the Hornets as PSU has struggled on both sides of the ball throughout the season. The Hornets are coming off of their best all around performance of the season and if they play at that level again they should be able to win this game.

Last game of the season at Hornet Stadium ! I hope that everyone comes out and supports the Hornets especially our 18 seniors today. Time for us to show thanks and appreciate their efforts. They have represented themselves and the University well through some trying times. Glad that they all chose to be Hornets!

Hornets win!!!!

48-41.

5 wins over Portland State in the last 6 meetings over a program that all time has had our number.

Gut wrenching game from start to finish that Sac State has historically lost. Not this time!!!! Maybe this is the start of something different for Sac State football in all these close games.
Ten points down late and comeback to win by 7. And believe this team now has the school record in points scored in a season.
.
Thank YOU seniors!!!

And let's continue on with supporting our seniors and 2014 Hornets as they head to Davis to make this year's Causeway Classic relevant with a win and a shot at a winning season!! May there be lots of green and gold in Davis next Sat. supporting on this great team. Heading up on the train from the Bay Area.

I will be coming to my first Causeway Classic in Davis since they put in their new stadium.

FINISH Hornets!!!

Wow, great fight in the Hornets tonight. Overall good team win. Offense played well, punted more than usual. Defense got stops in the end when they really needed them. ST were good, Aguliar leg not very strong but like the style of spraying the ball around KO good, KOR was good. You can tell Portland was scared to kick your returners and Punt Return awesome. Beat the Aggies. I want to hear from the rest of the group on here. Let's give the Hornets some love. Coach Sears has done a great job in having this team fight

Yes he is.

48-41 WIN. Hornets played ok in the first half but came out flat in the 3rd quarter and then dominated the 4th quarter. Both teams had mistakes that gave the other team easy points. The offense was able to do pretty much whatever it wanted, it seemed like lack of execution stopped them the most. Running game got going, Safron made some big time passes when needed. Overall a solid offensive game.

Defense had their lapses but put on the clamps in the 4th quarter when it mattered most. They had some HUGE stops down the stretch to keep the Hornets in the game and then to seal the game.

Specials teams won this game for the Hornets. Hennie had some good KR’s and PSU started kicking away from him, Cornish made some crucial FGs (including one late to tie it) and then Carter took a punt return to the house to win the game. Hell of a way for these seniors to go out in their final home game. This win guarantees a non-losing record on the season.
