Homecoming 2015 at Sac State is here.

Got my Sac State magazine in the mail yesterday with all the Homecoming info.

not the homecoming we were hoping for the 1-6 football team but it is Homecoming and it is time to party!!!

Volleyball starts off the day at 1 p.m. at hornet Gym against Montana. The Hornet volleyball team is having the best year since 2007 and leading the Big Sky overall with 18 wins.

Mens soccer is doing well in the Big West and tips off on campus against rival UC Davis at 3 p.m.

Expect all the athletes and fans from these other sports to come on over and party before the kick off of the football game against ISU. Sac State is well known for a tight nit athletic program with all teams supporting each other. Expect all Hornet teams to come out to Hornet Stadium this Saturday and there will be a good size crowd with alum coming back to campus

Having said all that...

What Might it take for our banged up Hornet football team to get things going on offense and score touchdowns again? Or any points? 20 points is our season high except for the Eastern Oregon romp.

Any news on injured players that may be ready to go this coming Saturday?

Any thoughts on what the Hornets need to be doing at this point to improve as we sit at the bottom of the 13 team Big Sky Conference? A conference with teams like Southern Utah, Portland State, Weber State and even Northern Collorado making so much noise. Of course glad to see this happening but bummed for our Hornets.

Are the players and coaches doing their best at this point given what has happened so far this season?

Would so love to see magic happen this Saturday and everything come together for the Hornets
And maybe even this new video board that I've heard about be working at Hornet Stadium?
That would be so nice 8 weeks into the season....

Sac State Pride.

Stingers Up

This week features a battle of two crappy teams. ISU has been ravaged by injuries since preseason camp, and the Hornets have lost guys in the past few weeks. This is a rare game where the Hornets have a chance at a win. ISU’s QB is out, and the Hornets are hoping for a FR QB to show life. Here’s to hoping the Hornets can ride the Homecoming emotions to a win.

11 of top 14 tacklers on this squad are FROSH! Looks like Ketteringham will start, Kniffin will be backup.

Homecoming Day 2015 at Sacramento State is here !!!

And it is going to be a perfect fall morning, afternoon and evening. Perfect weather!!

Let the party begin

Go Hornets!!!!

I know its against a bad defense, but Kettingham has looked amazing tonight. Precise with the deep ball, elusive. This kid is going to be good.

This is why I was preaching patience and kinda wish they just started the season playing all these young kids. This is a total learning year. These kids are gonna be a handful to deal with, probably starting next season.

The magic happened!!!!

How bout that.

Sweet Homecoming 2015!!!

All teams win!!!

And attendance at all venues is very good!!!

Best day this fall 2015 at Sac State !!!

Congrats to the Hornets!!!

Sac State Pride.

Stingers Up!!

Over 9,100 at the football game where the Hornets took down Idaho State 38-13

Over 600 at the mens soccer game where the Hornets took down UC Davis and gained points n the Causeway Cup and got closer to a berth in the Big West Tourney

And 5 fans shy of 400 at Hornet Gym where the Sac State volleyball team swept past Montana for win number 20.

What a Homecoming Day on campus at Sac State!!

Know this is the football forum but it is very well known that all Hornet teams support each other so wanted to give a shout out to all the teams on this very special day

And back to football.

Congratulations Hornets for never giving up and for everything coming together tonight and winning very big.

May all the Hornet football players heal up in the bye week and come out fighting at Cal poly!!

Kettingham looked better and it was nice to see to the new President at the game. Go Hornets!

Great Homecoming Game! I think our young Hornets grew up a lot last night! I was especially impressed with Kettigham, he looked like he has a lot of skills and looked confident especially for a true freshman.
It's going to be fun to watch him and the other freshman and sophomores develop! We have a lot of young talented athletes out there.

The new President and his wife leading the homecoming parade in the old carriage was a nice touch too.
Let's hope his enthusiasm and support of athletics continues!

The new Pres and/or his wife has made it to a lot of athletic events so far. One or both have been at the handful of VB games I've made it to this year. Every home game he is posted on Fieldhouse deck. It's nice to have a Pres that cares enough to attend athletic events.

Great atmosphere on campus and at the tailgate, but the parking lot Nazi thing needs to go. Charge us the parking fee and let us into the lot to set up our fucking tailgates whenever we get there. Having the parking lots “unavailable” until X PM is stupid. Especially when I can just jump the curb and end up parking for free.

Solid 38-13 win last night, and as mention K-ham looked good. He clearly has the talent. Good decision making and some great throws down the field. He also has the mobility that forces opposing defenses to respect the option read. The potential is definitely there. Huge night for Harrison.

Defense came through with some huge turnovers against an inexperienced QB. After the 1st quarter the D really dialed it in and kept ISU in check. Banks’ pick 6 in the 3rd sealed the game for good.

Special teams was solid on coverage. Medeiros delivered some booming kickoffs. Cornish missed a couple of FGs, one of which was well within his range at the close of the 1st half.

Hornets get a much needed bye to rest and heal up, then two brutal road games at CP and NAU.

Interesting on Hornetsports.com why there is no video recapping the football home games this year? See video recaps of volleyball, soccer, ect. and video of basketball practices. Video recaps is quite common with all sports accept football?

Would seem that it would make sense to show a recap of the huge Homecoming victory last night at Hornet Stadium with 9,000 fans, fireworks, the Hornet walk, tail gating, marching band, all cheer teams, alumni, the floats.

So odd.

And funny to see the ISU fan board pretty upset with the loss to Sac State with their comment about "less then 2,000 fans " at the game. It does always look empty on Big Sky video as the east side never fills up unless Davis comes to town.

Congrats on the win. However the stands might not fill up for the UC Davis game this year but Sac State fans should have fun. This is the worst coach we've had since I started going to Aggie football in 1970. The team and the fans are demoralized and lacking energy. And we know nothing will probably change because the Interim AD is the coach's wife! One of the highest paid coaches in the Big Sky cannot coach.

We drew almost 12,000 for the opening game vs Eastern Oregon and over 9,000 Saturday for two teams in free fall. The Causeway should draw between 13,000 and 15,000 despite the records. Games would look better on TV if the cameras were on the east side, Saturday the home stands were about 90% full.

I always thought that Gould was a odd pick for UCD. Being a successful running back coach doesn't necessarily translate to being a successful head coach, totally different skill set. To have him locked in for 5 years as the BSCs highest paid coach, his wife the Interim AD can't help your program.
Enjoy the bye week (at least neither team will lose this Saturday!) I hope you make it to the Causeway!

This is the era we live in for college football, the more swag the better. I liked the different look. Would love to see different color helmets

Helmets look good.

Whatever the players want is good by me.

The colors of Sac State are green and gold but....

Whatever the players want to wear in terms of green, gold (yellow) , black, gray, white is good by me. Just win.

And a video was done showing some of the highlights of Homecoming. Not great, no interviews, no real time sound, but at least something was done. All good!!!!

And trust that all our players are healing up, hitting the books and practicing hard during this bye week and know they will do their best to finish the year with the final 3 games and hungry to win. Just want to see them all giving it 100 percent!!

Go Hornets!!
