Week 8 - Sac State vs Montana (HOMECOMING Edition)!

Be still my beating heart! It's not easy being a Sacramento sports fan, but seeing Sac State get another win against a traditionally tough team has to feel good. I could've done without the interceptions, but the Hornets made their plays on both sides of the ball count when it mattered most. Don't stop guys, this ride is only going to get sweeter. :thumb:

HornetHope thanks for the tickets. They were put to good use. You're welcome at my tailgate anytime. :thumb:

49-22 Hornet rout of the defenseless griz. The Hornet D issued a beating on Sneed tonight. Wow. On the otherside of the ball the Hornets were only stopped by themselves. A total dismantling of the (soon to be formerly) 5th ranked team in FCS. Unreal. It's going to be a long covered wagon trip back to Missoula for the griz.

563 yards of offense put up tonight. 563 and dominated time of possession 38-21.

Griz really just had one big play on offense that accounted for almost half of their rushing yards, and I believe the other 2 scores were set up by Hornet turnovers. Hornet D had 6 sacks tonight.

Total domination, enjoy the ride everyone.

Side note: very classless move by the griz fans cheering when Thomson went down in the 2 qtr. Very classless. :ohno:

No problem SD, will definitely take you upon that. This was a total beat down in all phases. I heard Skatteboo committed but not sure

Twitter showed a few highly rated recruits were doing a visit tonight, so all in all Very good night!

That was incredible. Brought a bunch of people tonight and the Hornets did not disappoint. I lurked on egriz all week reading so many ignorant takes about a two touchdown beatdown by the griz. Wanted to respond, "this ain't your momma's hornets," but bit my tongue.

Salty tears taste so good....mmmmmmm

Lol. I wasn’t able to refrain. I wasn’t disrespectful or trollish at all, but rather questioned their logic.

One dude in particular was beside himself how some other Griz fans were predicting the Hornets to score 30+ on UM’s supposedly impenetrable defense. I told him that I could say the same regarding all the 40 - 50 point predictions against Sac State defense. I cited reasons why that was an unrealistic prediction. Most responses I got were “the Griz are better than any opponent the Hornets have played”. They are a super team the Hornets have no shot to stop.

Well, we all see how that played out.....

Dazed and confused. This team has me higher than my Costco bill. Sac State is never suppose to win these games, especially Pam State against the Griz. Always the door mat, always the underdog. Only 2nd win in 22 tries. To beat ranked EWU, MSU, and UM in a month is disorienting. Alternate reality, but ready for it to be the new norm.

Awesome win for the hornets. Wanted to attend but am battling a kidney stone right now so I watched it on my 65" big screen at home. Troy and his staff are doing an unbelievable job. Congrats to them and to the players who have hung in there to finally enjoy success.

Those homers at ESPN Missoula are still doubting Sacramento State. Listen to what they have to say about the Hornets as 2.5 point underdogs at HOME!!! This is blasphemous. I say you should take the points! It's at the 43:45 mark.

Any word on what ESPN Missoula is saying NOW?!?

15,140 at the game last night. Amazing.

Yeah, pretty good turnout. We got there about 90 minutes early and walked through and checked out all the tailgating that going on until they opened the gates at 5. We got seats right next to the student section. It was loud, boisterous and a lot of fun.

Fireworks show after was cool too.

If they keep rolling, I believe a similar or better turnout for the Weber game should be in the bag, barring poor weather. And the UCD game might have the potential to hit the 21K mark.

Just based on that opening freeze-frame (I can't really open it here at the library because I don't have any headphones), those guys look like they've drowned their sorrows in the beer barrel.

Sometimes it takes punching someone in the mouth to get them to pay attention. The entire State of Montana is paying attention now.

But the Hornets can't go Buster Douglas after beating Mike Tyson. They've got to back these past 3 wins up by KO'ing Cal Poly too and going into the Weber game with even more momentum.

Was in the Orlando airport today and saw a woman with a UM Grizz t-shirt on, I had to give her the Stingers Up, Go Sac State chant. She was not amused. Said we had really turned things around though.

Small world.
