West Coast Baptist: 2017 Edition

I'll probably head up for this one, don't usually need an excuse to watch Weber play. Would love to see the non starters get some significant play time.

Go Cats

I'm fairly sure that all non-red shirting, uninjured, players will see significant playing time tonight. The starters will get enough time to keep the rust off and that is all. I think that Randy should have 9 or 10 players available to him and they all should get significant time. We only had 8 healthy bodies available for the USU game, This alone is an improvement.

I will be there and I don't care that it is a lesser team we are playing. I love to watch how our players develop over time. These games are all fun and I am a fan of basketball. I am a huge fan of Weber State. :coffee:

I'm not going to see the West Coast get baptized. I'm going to watch my team perform and get better.

...and I'm sure you wouldn't want to miss a (probable) 30 pt win!

I'll be there too, the whole time wishing it were a team who could challenge our team.

But of course, a Weber home game is a Weber home game, regardless of the opponent. :coffee:

Well, we all got to see our freshmen for an extended amount of time. For much of the time, there were 4 freshmen on the floor at the same time. Kozak came out of his shell a bit and Ary-Turner showed what he can do. Doc had his moments. Court showed flashes of what he will become. It was a good, no pressure, game for all the new guys to show their potential. John the Baptist only brought two guys with him and it wasn't enough. when their top guys got in foul trouble, they had nothing. One of the best things to come out of this game was that nobody was injured and Court is back from his injury.

The problem with trying to assess anything from this game is the Baptists look more like a high school team than any I ever remember playing at the DEE-- both in physical size and in each one of their cute little baby faces. Hell, Braxton looked like a 30 year old man compared to nearly every one of them. Baker, Richardson, and Chapman only looked 28.

So who is injured and who is red-shirting? We saw 10 last night but I was hoping to see Dallas too.

I think Dallas is hurt, but is expected to return shortly.

Red shirting are Anton, Cody, and the other three walk ons. Obviously, Morris is playing. Cody's back injury will keep him out the rest of the season and Anton just needs a year of development. Anton may have been able to provide some depth this year, but with Jordan returning he can save a year and be a lot more ready to go next year. When Jordan Dallas returns, Randy will have 11 guys available for action, barring any injuries. We should be fine. Our rotation is usually down to 8 players by the time league play starts. :coffee:
