We are lucky to have nutted that one out today. I feel bad for UNC as they played their heart out.

We cannot be successful mailing it in week after week against lesser opponents. 2 muffed XPs. Two special teams TDs given up as well as the only successful onside kick in the conference this year. Total blow ups by our safety on the last two TD drives for UNC in the game. This was set to be the most embarrassing EWU loss since the Wulff era. Luckily, in Cooper Kupp We Trust. Without him, 1-6 might be our record.

I'll give Terrace Grady and our DL props, too. That crew kept us in the game. A good number of other guys were just warm bodies out there.

i am glad we won today, but will stick to my previous comments. we are an above average team this year, capable of playing with most of the tops teams but not mature enough across all three units to be a serious threat in the playoffs, should we make it.

This team may not be as good as the 2012 or 2013 teams, but it's kind of hard to say based off of who we've played and the weird nature of the BSC this year. We just need to take it one game at a time and improve every week. Remember that we are battling a ton of injuries right now. Lesser teams would not be 5-2 with all those injuries.

I can agree with this, with the caveat that we have the talent and time left in the season to become that serious threat.

The important thing is to run the table in the Big Sky. Do that, and we will get at least one home game in the playoffs, and then who knows what can happen.

NCU is better than usual this year. They played a really good game today so hats off to them.

They are better this season, but they shouldn't have been in the game the way they were. Special teams gave up three huge plays that put them in a position to win. We were dominating them defensively in the second half.

5 bad special teams plays if you include the shanked PATs...

We seem to have settled into a rhythm of doing the absolute minimum to win games. This one shouldn't have been close. The problem with doing the minimum is that eventually you make a bad play here or there and it costs you the game.

I get it, and I agree to an extent. We can't continue to do the minimum to win games, especially on the road. But with that said, it was a road game and any win on the road is a good one. Special teams was atrocious until the 45 yard game winner, but the D looked better again today. Offense was average, but without Splendorio and Wilson, I thought we did well. West does make some questionable decisions at times that I wish he'd figure out.

Chew on this. In 2010, we were 5-2 at this point in the season. A much lesser UNC team took us to OT in Greeley and the offense looked very inconsistent at times, especially Bo Levi. We all know where that season ended up. :thumb:

Exactly what I've been saying. We've seen the grit this team has a couple times now this season; we can never be counted out until the double-zero. Are we playing dominant football? Hell no. Is it stressful? Fuck yes. Are we all still Eagle fans? I sure fucking hope so.

Go Eags!

After 5 of our first 7 games on the road, with 5 wins in a row, and 3 of those BSC wins, EWU has 3 of the next 4 at home, with the Griz as the only remaining road game which they will have no trouble getting up for! I get what you are all saying, but EWU is in the drivers seat now, great win today, I about passed out in the end, but this coaching staff and players NEVER quit and play until the end. GO EAGS!!

Let me explain my concern; I've followed EWU football for decades. And this is among the most talented handful of teams we've ever assembled. No one is expecting perfection, but it would be a tremendous disappointment to see this quality of team lose a couple of games and miss the playoffs, or wind up barely in and lose in round one. When you play poor football and leave teams in ballgames, you make games far more risky than they need to be, and it only takes one bad loss to ruin a season.

Also, semantics, but we beat UNC in Greeley in 2010 in regulation. We scored two TDs late after losing for the majority of the game.

I expect this team to play like national champions EVERY GAME! I am very disappointed with the way the EAGS have won so far this year and don't believe the EAGS should be at the top of the BSC standings.

Alrighty. Well, sorry. They're 4-0 no matter what the results have been.

With all due respect if we do not clean up our game we will be short lived in the playoffs.
ex;
QB and receivers on different routes
8 penalties 72 yards
special teams play

As soon as I heard the starting line up from Larry I was concerned. Sophomore, rs freshman, rs freshman, junior, true freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, senior, rs freshman, sophomore...

We are a mostly young, mistake prone team. Saddle up and enjoy the ride!

We should have lost in 2010 too and everything turned out fine.

The one thing that bothers me is we should absolutely roll some of these teams and we don't. We need to roll weber and nau

Is this a team of adrenaline junkies? They do like to dig holes and them climb out of them...

Definition: Adrenaline junkie is a colloquial term used to describe someone who is addicted to thrilling and fear-inducing situations. The act of conquering fear creates a rush of endorphins that is simultaneously energizing and relaxing. This natural high leads adrenaline junkies to seek out ever-bigger thrills and excitement.

Buckle up Eag fans.
