WHAT A GAME......(Sac St)

Spectacular game, Defense was a force, Offense was spectacular, and special teams was amazing. Keep it up!

Some interesting stats from the Sac State game:

Possession Time: WSU-25:38, SAC-34:22

You can get away with that when you factor in the Average Gain Per Play: WSU-6.4, SAC-4.3

Trevyn Smith ends up with the team's lowest rushing average (if you throw out Higgins' carry) at 3.1 yards per carry and a total of 59 yards. Can someone please explain the reason for this? Obviously he didn't need to rack up big yardage for the win, but that average is really low. Was he okay? Last week he took some big hits, and it looked like it may have taken a toll on him in the second half. However, I didn't see today's game so I don't know if that's it.

Other stats of interest also obviously include Toone's 154 yards, and here's a good one: Jordan Brown's interception for 31 yards, nice. This next one is getting to me though:

Temperature: 68, Wind: None, Weather: Sunny, Clear

If only I could have been there...

I think the main reason that Trevyn got so low of rushing yardage is that we just didn't run the ball much most of the game. The passing game was on and that's was was moving the bad and scoring the touchdowns.

We didnt need to run yesterday, Sac St packed the box all day long so that they can stop the run, which they did. But this is the advantage of having a multi-dimentional team, they packed the box but left thier secondary vunerable, the had no under help, so we were able to pick them apart through the air.
