What Coach Biggs Had To Say....

about the Causeway Classic game, their season and Sac State in general on KHTK on Nov. 24th.

Coach Biggs was interviewed by Mike Lamb. He said that the Hornets effort was great especially in the 2nd half being successful in four out of five drives. He thought Coach Sperbeck called a great game and that Bethel-Thompson was something to be able to come off the bench and play that well. The Hornets made a lot plays especially on 3rd, and even 4th down. He said the Hornets just outplayed them at the end which was to their credit. He added that Sperbeck's integrity is second to none and Sperbeck is doing things the right way, both on and off the field.

Biggs also said that he had a real good look at the sideline catch that was ruled out of bounds and he thought it was in, but it's the official's call and he knows they are trying to make the right call as they see it. He's had calls go both ways over the years and that's just part of the game. He does like the challenge rule though and he used it twice playing FBS teams and won both challenge's; it'd be nice to have. The loss put a damper on their season, but overall he thought they had a really good year.

Coach Biggs is a classy guy and an excellent coach. At the Causeway luncheon he made a point to say what a good friend Bob Mattos had been over the years and how his thoughts and prayers were there for Coach Mattos and his family.

I hope he and Sperbeck have many, many more years of Causeway Classic battles. I suspect we will now win our fair share. No more eight years in a row in defeat. GO HORNETS!
