What is your guess for wins for this year?

SD makes a good argument for the "sane" or "cautious" approach here, given our history. I'm quite a bit more optimistic. While it's not every day that we beat the Griz, we've proven quite recently that we CAN do it. And as for Cal? Cal is no Michigan and won't be #5 FBS any time soon, and we all know how App State took out a #5 Michigan squad (which shot down Michigan's NC hopes at the same time). Is my confidence a guarantee? Of course not. But I do think that we're high enough quality to at least make a game of it with the Golden Bears.

And if I'm wrong (as is the case most of the time), SD will probably prove to be the closest to correct of all of us....

Cal is no better or worse than Arizona State. We had a legitimate chance to win the ASU game and we are a much better team this year. The App State win was an anomaly so I don't feel it is a good comparison. I won't be a bit surprised if/when we beat Cal because we are good enough to do it. I guarantee you the Cal staff knows we are good enough.

I'm leaning your direction on this game. Will it be easy? Nope. But is it doable? Absolutely! I'm looking forward to flying down from Washington to see it...and enjoying a nice train ride back up afterwards!.

Nice invocation of Danny White University!

And I agree with you that the Cal staff knows we're good enough. Angus will tell them. But will the players listen? I think that's where App State got their shot to beat Michigan. While I have no proof of this, I think it's highly likely that the Michigan staff warned the players that taking App lightly could result in disaster. That could happen here between Sac and Cal....

Schedule is way softer than it was for the 2019 Title run, although hard to gage everything with the spring schedule last year. Every game on the schedule is winnable, anything less than 8 wins is a disappointment with 7 or less wins being an abject failure. 7 wins won’t be enough for a playoff berth so 8 or more wins is the benchmark.

We’ll go 8-3 (7-1 BSC) for a share of the BSC Title.

Sep 4 - at Utah Tech - Win
Sep 11 - vs Northern Iowa - Loss
Sep 18 - at Cal - Loss
Sep 25 - at Idaho State - Win
Oct 9 - vs Southern Utah - Win
Oct 16 - at Montana - Loss
Oct 23 - vs Northern Arizona - Win
Oct 30 - at Northern Colorado - Win
Nov 6 - vs Cal Poly - Win
Nov 13 - vs Portland State - Win
Nov 20 - at Causeway - Win

Damn, missed the montucky game. :ohno:

8-)

I’ll go with 8-3 as well, I’m torn on the Montana and Davis games, but I’ll stick with what I put below

Dixie State W
Northern Iowa L
Cal L
Idaho State W
Southern Utah W
Montana W
Northern Arizona W
Northern Colorado W
Cal Poly W
Portland State W
UC Davis L

I messed up on the dungpile game, but did get the Montana game correct.
