What's it going to take to compete with

the Vandals and BSU this fall? I'm not saying that the Bengals will lose because if there is anything that we learned from last year, anything can happen. Just ask Michigan.

Boise State will be tough, definitely an uphill battle. Idaho, well, Idaho is a very winnable game.

My thoughts... Bronco Stadium will unveil it's newest addition to the stadium during the Bengal game. That will bring the capacity to about 32,000 fans. It'll be full and it'll be loud. The Bengals cannot be intimidated. That, in itself will be hard enough.

BSU will have a new O-Line and a new QB. If there is a good time to take 'em on, it's early. In order to stay in the game, the Bengals will have to pressure the QB. That means blitz early and often. All out blitz, delayed blitz, you name it. That may leave Bengal DB's on an island, but I think that's the best way to stay in the game. On the offensive side, the Bengals have to control the clock and do so by keeping the Bronco defense off balance. If the Bengals want to stay in the game, they cannot run a vanilla offense. If the Bengals don't control the clock and keep the Broncos off balance, physically, I don't see the Bengals staying with the Broncos.

Idaho, well, they won one game last year. They slipped by Cal Poly in Moscow 20-13. They are feeling good about the incoming class. But, it will also be early in the season. I think it will be a better match-up. The Vandals, at least last year, were still taking the cheap, late shots. They will be looking for a game to gain confidence for their conference games. I believe that ISU will see a whole bunch of the cheap crap. Hopefully the refs will intercede.

BSU could be a winnable game. Field position, time management, and some luck, and we could win.

The U of I game...spaz is right. I'm expecting the Vandals to imitate their program: cheap, cheap, and CHEEEEEP!!!

What's it going to take? Well, let me tell you.........
It's pretty simple the way I see it.
For Boise:
To start with, we are going to need a bunch of 'hungry' but disciplined athletes ready to put it all on the table and willing to go out and 'bust the Broncos in the chops'. After that, we will need a good game plan from the coaches as well as good execution from the players without making mistakes that put points on the board for the other team.
Add to that perhaps a little luck or rather.....good fortune.

Luck=When preparation meets opportunity

For UofI:
Same as above but not as much luck because we know we are as good if not better than the crew in Moscow.

How's that for starters?

GO BENGALS!!

Sorry but ISU will not compete with BSU. Dont give me the Appy-Michigan comparison. Appy State's QB was a legit D-1 player with academics issues that kept him out of BCS schools. They had tons of speed all over the field and as we all saw a week later with Oregon same effect. Sorry BSUhas PAC-10 quality players and speed. ISU doesnt have the speed to stay close to BSU anywhere on the field. Now the Idaho game I wouldnt be surprised if ISU wins that game.

I agree with Knothole
No dice against BSU, and even though I think ISU is somewhat of a joke, I can agree that U of I is even more of an embarassment to the state of Idaho. ISU can win in Moscow.

That's funny that you all think I'm a Weber fan, since I'm from Pocatello and actually went to ISU. I used to think they were cool, til I realized that they hype everything up every year, just do put out another losing season and leave everyone dissapointed again. I guess that would make you guys cry if you were to admit to yourselves that someone from Pocatello who actually went to ISU thinks they suck too. But if you want to pretend I'm a weber fan that's cool.

You're right, one year they'll win three, the next four, but they always manage to stay under 500. You still haven't defended your joke of a team, you just called me a name again. We're supposed to be discussing what it would take for ISU to compete with Idaho and BSU. I guess you can't compete so you need to try and attack your critics. It's a good thing this forum isn't about you Egon, or I would light you up and expose you as the idiot that you are.

Since 2000:

2000 6-5
2001 4-7
2002 8-3
2003 8-4
2004 3-8
2005 5-6
2006 2-9
2007 3-8

By comparison, Idaho since 2000:

2000 5-6
2001 1-10
2002 2-10
2003 3-9
2004 3-9
2005 2-9
2006 4-8
2007 1-11

thanks bio, I'm glad you could post Idaho's record, since I'm rooting for them! Oh wait, I actually care for them less than ISU if you want to scroll up and read a little more, I just think Egon's a schmuck, he doesn't seem to say anything pertaining to the feed, he just wants to call people names.

Bio
Maybe you could quit ignoring the elephant in the room and post BSU's record year by year since 2000 while you're at it! I said earlier that they have no chance at beating BSU and that they will beat Idaho, maybe you could try to convince me that they could beat the Broncos. Or you could differ that one to Egon and give him a chance to say something intelligent for once.

Oh I'm Sorry SLC!
Heaven forbid that someone doesn't agree with you all that ISU has a good team. They suck! Call it trolling if you want, but I did my undergrad at ISU, so I'm not just on here being ignorant, I know how things work in Pocatello. You guys can say all you want about how they'll be so good this year, but the fact is that you hang your hat on a couple of 8 win seasons that happened five and six years ago! One of those got them a big sky championship (a three way tie where they didn't even get to play in the playoffs!) So yeah, go bengals? No, quit hyping it up for something that it won't be this fall!!!! Are the billboards in Pocatello going to read "Watch what happens!" this fall? They should say, "watch us win 2 or 3 games against opponents like Fort Lewis and Montana Western!" You guys are pathetic!!!

Hater you need to calm down and keep your thoughts to yourself you troll. Biobengal and egon you need to stay of this forum because you make all of us bengal fans look bad.

Come on guys... There is a slight, and that is very slight, chance that you will beat either team. Thats like my roomate telling me that Weber will beat Utah or Hawaii next year. However, I will say that the game against U of I is going to be far more competitive. In all honesty, Idaho should be in the Big Sky still. However, it would be great if ISU beat either or both teams. Just like I'd love to see Weber beat Utah (I'll be happy if we score 14pts and have 10 first downs), but its just not realistic. I played against Arkansas and believe me when I say this, it was damn freakin scary.
