• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

First a player suspended for violation of team rules and conduct unbecoming of a student-athlete...

was this announcement really necessary? In the football forum, someone commented on a football player (Gibson) being dismissed from the team. Is it safe to assume he left on his own terms since there was no press release of his dismissal?

And now the head coach on paid administrative leave...

Any thoughts/comments? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

The suspension notice was issued because it was in-season ... I still don't know about the Gibson deal other than I'm assuming he is not eligible, and has opted to leave school. If he was say dismissed during the season, then yes we issue a release on that...I hope that makes sense.

Case in point, Kyle Blum is opting to graduate and move on...we didn't release that per se with an official release. But, say he got suspended or opted to leave the program during the season...then that we would have to issue a statement or something.

Also, it should be noted that even with the paid administrative leave, Jessica Baca is still suspended ... that still holds. Hope that clears some of that up.

Rhett Workman, a sports reporter with the Snoqualmie Valley Record (of all places), has been offerering commentary (and teases) about the story on his paper's blog...

SnoValleySports commentary: Idaho State's women's softball team should be on the rise. But, it just seems to go in circles instead...

As we mentioned yesterday, the coach, Andrea Wilson, was placed on leave Friday according to the school, and an investigation was opened into issues concerning the program and her coaching. We also told you that we were informed of what was going on behind the scenes which led to all of this. A reader wants to know more, so here we go. We will, out of respect for the investigation, not go into too many specifics of what's going on there, but what we can tell you is that the school's decision came following a series of flare-ups involving the program during this past week which started out with an alleged dispute between the coach and the team's shortstop.

The Head Softball Coach position is posted on the ISU website... Hope they find someone good. Not sure why the softball coach would need to promote the soccer team though :? , or why they need to know about the Big Sky :? ... Really impressive editing.
