Hopefully Bovee has been searching for a new coach, as nice a guy as Sears seems. Last night was pathetic. Not a good sign when alum are leaving at the end of the 3rd, "saying I'm going to go watch the real game now".

I actually blame this pathetic loss on Bovee himself. This team looked defeated walking into the damn stadium on Saturday. Getting your ass kicked by 2 FBS will do that too you. I don't blame Jody Sears for this, he walked into a mess created by Bovee and John Lucifer Smith.

I don't think anyone has ever accused WeberSki as being a true fan. You are right though, his attitude won't be missed.

I really hate seeing the title of this thread. This was common though from our fans prior to 07. I am confident Mac has changed Weber football for the better. I hope the team can find a way to keep going even if we start out 0-4. The two fbs games dont technically schedule you out of the playoffs but it does give you two less opportunities to get 7 wins.

This schedule has got to be rough on the players. Of course we can say there is no excuse for losing to an fcs (well at least since the mac era exploded in 08) but we have now allowed something like 130 points. The fbs games were demoralizing.

it turns out that getting destroyed by instate fbs teams in back to back seasons is much worse than a pummeling from the likes of say Texas tech in 2009.

The best way to help the program move forward is to support the team by cheering them on. I'll be at every game I can regardless of how Weber does. The team went through a rough off season and now isn't the time to abandon them ala John "Loser" Smith.

Weberski, skeeter, etc... didn't get his nickname "the little ball of hate" by being real positive. Can a tiger change his stripes? No but perhaps with the right type of therapy Weberski could become less of a ball of hate. While I do agree that Bovee has screwed this program, I will never stop supporting the team.

I'm not a big fan of some things Bovee has done since taking over for Graybeal, but at the same time, you can't get pissed about scheduling BYU and Fresno State. Without those games, Weber State doesn't have a football program. You understand that, right? The money from those games pays for a large percentage of the team. Eight-to-ten thousand fans per home game doesn't bring in enough dough, and the state stopped subsidizing the program in the 90s. As far as the whole back-to-back argument, would you rather the team face one early and then take a break from conference play and risk players getting hurt when in the middle of a Big Sky title hunt? I wouldn't. Yes, playing those games must suck for the team, but it's a necessary evil. Get over yourself.

I'll 2nd that, hawkssb04...Bovee lately on Arky radio interview said would eventually like to be at "Montana model" where the necessary evil of playing cupcake role for pay wouldn't be necessary...in my opinion, with the lame attendance at WSU football games (even with free tickets offered), it's NOT going to happen anytime soon. Especially with the typical "FairWeatherFans" attitude in 'O' town.
