I am not sure if you know but I just found this forum the other day.
I am not the most Internets savey person.
I don't see any discussions about the marketing department.
Where are they?
Do we have one for sports or is it the school itself?

If you don't see any discussions about the marketing department, it's because you're not looking. There has been plenty of discussions in this forum about the marketing department, or lack there of.

As far as the marketing dpt right now, it is being done by committee. They fired the last guy that was supposed to do it, but because of budget crunches, they can't hire a real Marketing Dpt head. I hope this interim (sp?) AD will get some things done in that dpt, but who knows. We have been complaining about the lack of marketing for a loooooooooong time now.

Isn't Graybeal's new job some kind of marketing position?

Graybeal is the athletic director.

Graybeal resigned over a week ago.

Jerry's new position is "Development Director" for athletics. What that means is he is going to be raising money just for the athletic department. His job is to find big money and get endowments started. As athletic director he asked his boss for 3 years for a development director and never got one. I hope that he can get a large endowment going and keep adding to it over the next few years. It would be a great asset to the University. :!:

Have they ever thought about hiring an outside marketing firm to do the marketing?

In terms of comparison between our two football foes the first two weeks of the season, Weber States Marketing Dept is worse than Wyomings and CSU's. Why? and YIKES!!

do we actually have a marketing department? Or is the WSU marketing dept a lot like the easter bunny or big foot? You know those mythical creatures that don't actually exist. I am so f-ing sick of hearing "oh wait until August" or "wait until you see this new idea we have" or "we hired this consulting firm, just wait until you see what we are gonna do next" Enough is enough! enough excuses!! Do they realize WSU has a home game this Saturday? Screw the marketing department. It is up to all of us loyal WSU fans to bring more people to the games. It will be a great game and great weather bring all your friends and neighbors and come tailgate, have a great time and cheer loud!
Go Wildcats!!!
BTW, will someone up at WSU please start holding the marketing and promotions department accountable?

Coach Graybeal will find success in raising monies for the athletic department, I'd love to help him do it, oh well. As for marketing...there is only one word that can describe it accurately PATHETIC. Their big marketing push was the intro on Weber State athletics.com. From the SID to Compliance the department needs serious help, most desperately the marketing and promotions is in dire need of serious attention.

We need to pack the stands on satuaday. I'm telling my friends up here in Brigham City to try to get them to come see a good team.
