Only getting 500 fans in there for your game is an embarrassing site.

You guys should have used your home floor. (Just my opinion)

Rome wasn't built in a day. Next year will be better. Couple more championships...

Assuming it is in Portland next year.....

It will be in Portland again. WSU, NAU, and Montana lose big time players to graduation and PSU will actually be more talented next year than they were this season.

This post isn't appropriate for this thread as well the fact that it is only March right now...

But...

Next season I would guess the top teams will be with out taking many of the new recruits into consideration:

Not in any order: PSU/WSU/NAU/ISU...maybe even EWU.

PSU - good players coming back to some newbs being added to the roster that are supposed to be good
WSU - losing 3 starters but good players returning and weber will have the best recruit in the conference and also I'm assuming a couple decent JC transfers will be added soon.
NAU - i guess no reason to not count on them being goood, they have one of the best coaches in the conf and they shoot 3's like crazy ever yr...still dont get how they get all these awesome long range shooters (and yes last night was a joke, they schooled my team hitting 11-15 from the arc, yikes!!)
ISU - young team this year so why would they not be good next year. They have a lot of potential.

We'll see who UM adds to their roster for next year but they shoulda been in the top 2 this year so...

Who knows - Montana's big problem this year I think was more of a coaching issue. The conference as far as basketball goes is so different from one year to the next - I remember you guys were all promising long-term success the last time you hosted the conference tournament.

By the way - Hasquet and Elgin-Taylor both return. Also I think we will have some help underneath by a man named Jack McGillis - I think you Oregonians may have heard of him.

Anything's posssible. MSU could challenge next year as well (considering they were not expected to even have a prayer this year) - as long as they can finish down the stretch.

I'd concur on the coaching issue. I can't help but think that Larry K would have had much more success with the talent that the UM had this year. Not Tinkle bashing, but more of a praise for the coaching ability of Larry K. There were things this year with the Griz team that would have forced major rotation changes (effort, shot selection, etc) if Larry were still there. However, I didn't see all of their games this year, so I could be wrong.

I'm not sure about the long-term success comment after our BSC tourney run in 2005. With graduation, it was obvious that there was going to be a dropoff. Not sure if we thought it would be that bad the next year, but definitely a dropoff. Heath S saw it too, and I think that's why he timed his departure when he did...

Yeah, I don't know any PSU people who thought we were set up for an extended run after '05. If anything, we knew it was a bit of a fluke because Boxley had been granted what seemed like his 17th year of eligibility and that allowed us to have an especially good team for one year.

This year's squad on the other hand, is deep, has mostly been recruited by the current coaching staff, and looks to be getting more talented with the addition of three D-I transfers.
