What a problem to have! Two young QB's, who could start on any Big Sky team and many Pac 12 teams, and an expereinced senior.
Jordan West
Reilly Hennessey
Gage Gubrud

I don't think benching gubrud after one half of poor football would be justified so I think he gets the start and if he struggles you reevaluate.

Would Reilly say- Hey I bailed us out why should I sit now?

I'd think spring and fall camps and weekly practices would play a much larger factor than two quarters. I just don't think that you can base this sort of decision from less than half a game. I'm comfortable with either one of them starting and I think the coaches are as well.

Gage played really well in the first two games then had a rough time against UNI. Wouldn't it make sense to give him another opportunity to redeem himself against NAU?

Gage and Reilly are both studs. I think Reilly throws a better ball, but Gage is a nightmare for defenses to game-plan for. I think Gage will start but I don't think we've seen the last of Reilly.......

go eags!

Beau lands on one guy and he is THE QB. We need leadership, not QB by committee.

I think Beau IS the leader. Based on what I've seen, the team wants to win games, and they will do that with whatever QB is best to accomplish that. I think last year, there were times where it really didn't work out. But I think VA and Padron were a very good tandem that seemed to really respect each other, and supported when the other QB was playing. It just seems that same respect exists between these three quarterbacks. Just like we rotate players in throughout the game in other positions, though it shouldn't be as frequent for rhythm's sake, it doesn't seem so bad this year, especially with the level of talent all of our QB's have, and the maturity they demonstrate.

The UM game was a total meltdown. No facet of the team performed well, including the coaches.

Agree. I'm not saying a QB carousel is ideal. But if there is anyone that can make it work, it's BB. And I think we've seen it work for him more often than it has not. Heck, even with the UNI headscratcher last year, it wasn't like either QB failed to perform, and it seems like losing Kupp that game was a bigger factor in the loss. After Hennessey went down as well, it was the QB that started the game that through the dagger INT that sealed UNI's win.

Just saying, I think Baldwin makes good decisions most of the time, and have a stable of selfless QB's that can utilize there particular skillsets in unique situations, or can be the one with the hot hand for a game, might be more of a benefit than a curse. In other environments, talented QB's that ride the bench sometimes leave to find scenarios with more playing time. We were benefactors of that when we acquired BLM from SMU.
