Why do we employ the West Coast offense

It seems every year, or just about, we are facing crisis at QB. To play this scheme you require a few years of a QB that has been groomed in the system. That QB goes down/leaves it exposes the entire offensive output for the year.

Why do we continually try and use this offensive scheme? We don't have the depth, ability or success in using this scheme. Look at Poly, they beat Montucky with a new coach and CP has a new QB, why, because they run the option which doesnt put total emphasis on the QB position. And complex pass routes.

College at our level is based on constant change and uncertainty, lets employ an offensive scheme that embraces and spreads the ability to interchange players easily w/o jeapordizing year after year.

MBT is essentially out for the year regardless of what anybody says. Flemming is it. If he goes down there goes another season and it shouldnt be that way.

While I personally would prefer an I-based attack, WCO is popular in major colleges now, at least those that haven't jumped on the UT-FL spread bandwagon.

We COULD revert to the bloody Wing-T, but I find that option abhorrent.

A rash of injuries at the QB position is likely to screw you regardless of the offense one trots out there. Rarely does one find a Jim Plunkett lurking behind Dan Pastorini's broken leg or a Vince Ferragamo behind Pat Haden's busted thumb.

An offensive scheme change won't do us any good. We have the depth at receiver to make this work. We are also fine at RB so long as this damn injuries stop piling up. As you said the issue lies at QB. I feel wee just need someone who can accurately throw the ball and not make bad decisions and we should be fine. It's still early in the season but this offense needs to pick it up. Keep in mind Flemming has only been with the team for 2 weeks. If he wasn't added, the season would already be over.

Hey guys, its Fleming with one "m." He needs all of our support now :D
My bad. And I agree. I think everyone is behind him, I just think everyone is tired of these similar set backs every season. There is just too much experience on this team to show growing pains. The MBT injury is a huge hit, but things could be a lot worse.

Dan passed his weenie? I'm an old Hou Oilers fans, never thought I'd hear that name again.

Yes, but we arent a major college program.

We havent had a healthy, reliable QB since Ray, ten years ago.

I was an Oilers fan up until they left for the L.A. of the South, Nashville.
