Why Eastern will get the higher seed

1. EWU holds wins over co-conference champs MSU and Cal Poly
2. EWU played a MUCH more difficult non-conference schedule than MSU and even CP.
3. EWU won the auto-bid
4. EWU holds an FBS win.

Yet Cat fans still think they will get the #2 seed. :ohno: :tothehand:

Should be interesting....wouldn't be surprised to see Old Dominion get the 2 seed (CAA gets too much respect) if they hold on and then MSU/EWU splitting the 3/4 seeds. We will see, but we deserve to be seeded higher than MSU, not sure if we will be, but we should be.

I should also note that MSU played only ONE of the top 4 Big Sky teams, and LOST that game (EWU).

Zero chance they get the higher seed, IMO.

Congratulations to EWU on the win today.

From a scheduling aspect I would agree EWU played a tougher non conference team in WSU than any team MSU played. Unfortunately it was a loss. The win at Idaho was great but I won't comment any further.

I really don't know how MSU and EWU will be ranked. I think you can argue since EWU beat MSU they should be ranked higher. Both are in the playoffs and I hope both represent the BSC well.
For the sake of the BSC I hope EWU, MSU and CPS are able to make it deep in the Playoffs. I hope only one wins the National Championship Game. LOL. If it is EWU and not MSU I will be pulling for you guys.

Great regular season and it will be fun in the playoffs.

Both teams had great regular seasons and lets hope we both represent the Big Sky in the playoffs well...

Good win for the Cats in Missoula today, I didn't think you would win that one.

Well, I guess everything will be answered tomorrow afternoon, but for now, what we do know is this.

1. The Eags lived up to expectations this season, going 9-2 and winning the close ones ala 2010. We also broke MSU's two game winning streak an embarassed Idaho im a big way.

2. We are the Big Sky Co-Champs

3. We will most likely be seeded, have a bye in the first round and a home game in the second.

Those are some good reasons to be excited about today's win.

Unfortunately, I don't think Eastern will get a higher seed than Montana State. The comparison is, of course, a 1-loss team vs. a 2-loss team that played a more difficult schedule and holds a head-to-head win. On the surface, it would appear Eastern has a pretty good shot at getting the higher bid based on that, but if you look at recent results, Montana State has been beating teams by decent margins, whereas Eastern has been life-or-death more often than not. I think more than a few committee members will look at how we played Portland State and how Montana State played them. MSU rolled and it was totally over by halftime, Eastern needed all the way to the final drive to settle it.

The selection committee was asked NOT to consider margin of victory. For there are always other factors at play to determine scores. In our case, the boys didn't know how to play in the rain.

One of the biggest things that I think will be particularly damning is that MSU hasn't beaten a single ranked team. EWU beat three, if you count UM who was #21 at the time. We still have wins over two playoff teams one at home, and one on the road.

You guys were correct on the number 2 seed. Congratulations! I wanted to see MSU get it but you guys beat us so it makes sense. Go EWU! Go Cats! I hope we meet again this season.

Not many thought we would. It all depends on which Cat team shows up on any given Saturday. I feel we're quite similar to you guys in that we both can beat anyone in any given game...and we can both potentially beat ourselves. Best of luck to the Big Sky!

Congrats on the 2 seed. If we both get that far I'm definitely working out of our Spokane headquarters late in the week!!!
