Why is the basis for the adverse Dee Center effect?

It's funny that you call Weber a lesser team, even our coach will admit that read this which was in the local papers:

"They're a scary team," said WSU Head Coach Randy Rahe about Portland State. "They are extra talented. I watched the Northern Arizona game on tape when they beat them last weekend, and they looked like the Lakers. I wouldn't let our guys watch it. I thought it would scare them. It's just harder on the road. They're a heck of a ball club."

Rahe said he was especially scared in the first few minutes of the game as the Wildcats (6-8, 1-1 Big Sky) got off to a slow start, missing their first eight shots and allowing the Vikings to gain a 9-0 lead.

I don't know what it is but I'm the first to admit it, Weber just wins at home. Over the years even when we have crap teams they still win at home and we leave the stadium confused.

Weber has a winning record at home against every in-state school yet a losing record to ever in-state school on the road...minus SUU but they suck.

In Weber's old arena before the Dee, they went 180-18 in the 15 years they played there.

Since the Dee was built in '77, Weber teams have gone 513-109 at home and Weber's current home record vs the current Big Sky teams is 204-41.

Too my knowledge almost every Big Sky champion since '97 still lost at Weber during the regular season. UCLA's ben howland coached NAU until I think 2000 and he had three 20 win seasons and 2 big sky titles and still would lose at weber.

I don't think however the 'Cats can keep it up forever, PSU has been improving over the years. Just don't pull an NAU, they are 5-39 at Weber.
