Did Sione go on a mission?

I'm sure I'm missing some guys and that there are other guys who are on the list that might not be missionaries, but this, to me at least, is the best list I could compile. I know we are always asking who the missionaries are.

Almost impossible to get an accurate list as Weber doesn't say much about missionaries. Elie Bouka isn't on a mission (ain't even LDS) and we won't be seeing him playing for Weber.

Nice find. Interesting...the Standard, after his original signing, said that he would be serve a mission.

Not suprising... would you want BYU :bad: knowing what players you have on a mission. Riley Nelson... Enough said!

Oh. Then maybe he is LDS. I just assumed he wasn't. But either way, it doesn't appear that he'll ever play at Weber, especially after all the coaching changes.

Jordan Lee isn't LDS and is not on a mission. Not by a longshot. I don't think he has any future with the WSU football team.

Okay, I didn't know that Lee wasn't LDS. It's good to slowly, but surely, figure out who are missionaries and who might be coming back to Weber after their two years of service. Also, I put this thread together as a way to show our Montana friends that the far majority of Weber State players are not return missionaries, like some of them assume. It seems to be a huge disparity in our games with them, especially when we beat them. They love to say that the whole reason why we beat them is because our guys are far more mature, and have two extra years of physical growth. They used Tafuna as an example of how "unfair" it is that Weber has LDS guys who have two extra years of maturity and growth. Unfortunately for them, Tafuna was a JC transfer, so in a sense, UM had as much of a chance to get him that Weber had. So, I don't think they can count transfers or guys who sign after their missions.

Elie Bouka is LDS.
I would know since I'm his older sister.
Elie had to postpone his mission for a few months and that would have changed his availability date and hence his contract. When he contacted the Wildcats to inform them and to see if he could join the team after or before his mission, he was informed that the coaching staff had changed and that the new staff was not interested in getting back to him about it.
So he had the choice: abide by his contract which would have prevented him from going on a mission, or find another team that would understand his predicament and go on a mission. He chose to forgo his change to play for Weber at an American school and to play for U of Calgary who were willing to release him for the duration of his mission. He will play the season for the Dinos, after which he will leave on his mission, and then return to U of C.
How is that for accurate information :)

Thanks for the heads up. Sorry to hear that the new staff wasn't interested in working with Elie. Hope he has a good season and inspiring mission (maybe he will get called to serve in the Ogden, Utah mission...)
