What do you think? Will he go to the NBA after this season. What factors will determine if he stays or goes? I assume that he is on track to graduate this year? This is his 4th year in school... They say 1st round.. I agree. Should he go, or should he stay?????

Assuming that he keeps up his game and is injury free at the end of the season as we all hope will be the case, I think he should go if he is a consensus first round pick. (That's exactly where I see him, BTW). I would hate to see what happened to "The Show" happen again. At the time I loved that he stayed at Weber but come season end his Senior year I felt terrible for the guy. Getting to a place where they want you as a first rounder makes for a much longer NBA career. The scouts I have heard speculate on camera or radio look at him as a Senior now and don't back off on his talent when corrected. Even though it hurts us a bit next year, I have faith that Rahe can deal with what he has and I look to see Lillard have the most visible NBA career of any WSU athlete yet - which is a HUGE recruiting tool for several years to come. I understand that he is a great student-athlete and will graduate, so he has done us proud while accomplishing his goals. I say best of luck to him (after we win the Sky and make big noise in the NCAA Tournament, of course).

if leaving after this yr is the best option over staying one more year then I support what ever he does. he will have his degree in the spring and he has a good gpa. i think the rule is if you can go first rd you have to do it.

he will be high in all the stats in the wsu record books after 3 yrs. he will have 2 mvp's and most likely 3 big sky titles in the 3 yrs he played.

i would love for him to come back but im not sure that it will happen.

if he does come back we better average 10k at the dee. he will own/destroy the weber and big sky record books in basically every stat category except rebounding since he is a guard.

He will do what he did two years ago. He will declare himself eligible for the draft, but not hire an agent. He will then test the waters - maybe even work out for a few teams and attend some pre-draft camps. Then, he will wait and see where/if he gets drafted. If he gets a first round draft pick (which means a guaranteed contract), then he will be gone. If not, he will be back for his senior season at WSU.
My guess is that he will be a late first round pick. He will be a player similar to a Ronnie Price type player in the NBA - A solid contributor, but never a real star (D-Lill could prove me wrong and I will gladly take back my words). So, we will know in June if he comes back or not. My guess is that he will not be back.

For those trying to compare Lillard's situation to Harold's is silly. Two entirely different situations
Lillard's situation is closer to Jimmer's. Jimmer went from a very late 1st rounder- or early 2 rounder to a lottery pick by coming back for his Senior campaign.

:shocking: RONNIE PRICE A SOLID CONTRIBUTER IN THE NBA!
First of all Damian didn't put his name in the draft two years ago. You can only do that once and pull out of the draft. Plus you have to pull out somewhere like a month before the draft or you automatically can't come back. Damian is so much better than Ronnie Price, you need to compare Damian to other players than him. The only person I think who might compare is the bad word from down south that pulled his name out after his junior year and came back for his senior year to become an all-american. Damian is in about the same situation as he was two years ago.

even if he is never a star he will still be in the nba, can make millions, and achieve a life long dream.

The difference between Damian and many other college athletes is that he came to college to actually get a degree. If he gets his degree this spring, as is expected, and would be drafted in the 1st round, I wouldn't fault Damian at all for going.

Personally, I think that Lillard needs to take advantage of any opportunities that come his way. However, think how good our team will be next year, if he comes back. He is the corner stone in our future success (even if he does leave, I still think Weber is the team to beat in the Sky). We all know, be it this season or next, he is going to go to the NBA. He has only gotten better each year, and will continue to improve next year, at Weber or playing somewhere in the NBA. Of course, I hope he comes back, and frankly, I don't think it will hurt his chances of attaining an NBA career if he does. Rahe will still be here next year, and so will the majority of this years team, with another year of experience.
