Will we see 50 again?

As the season goes along teams are getting a lot of looks at Eagle film. Are other teams figuring out the Eagles offense enough to hold the scores down from the 50+ points we saw earlier in the season?
Can the offense still score 50+?

I definitely think we will reach 50 several more times this year. The Big Sky is known for their offensive explosions and the way we play when we get ahead now we are going to poor it on. Either by land or air we will get ours. Just look at the end of the UCDavis game our 2nd stringers were still getting after it. No quit from these guys.
I see it in the following games - PSU, NDSU, ISU, & Montana (which is the one I would love to see more than anything).
Once we get ahead teams will not be disciplined enough to try and drag the game out with run after run after run to chew the clock.

Yes. Not many teams have the combination of penetrating DL and cover corners to shut us down and with the added dimension of a consistent running attack... mmmm mmmm good. That said, starting to see more ball attack on D, so defensive score is just one play away. Is it homer if it's true? ;) The best defense for the Eag attack is a late team bus.

That was kind of my point, teams will learn to drag the game out as their best chance to stay in the game so we will get less "touches".

I figured that is what you were getting at but I think when we get up 2 scores teams will have no choice to throw that game plan out the door. I totally expect more games like SHSU than the one we saw this past weekend.

Absolutely we will see 50+. Some of the teams on our remaining schedule are not very good and 4 of the last 7 are at home. We could easily see Eastern put up 50+ on ISU this weekend. Teams may figure out a way to slow EWU down, but do they have the personnel to do so.....

If teams start to play the way UC Davis did, and remember, they are one of the few heavy rushing teams in our league, we will try to build a lead early. Baldwin loves to defer the kickoff to the 2nd half, but we may see that change if teams start to run it on us so we can break out to an early lead.

As much as I hate not getting the ball after half I think that this is a great adjustment . . .as long as we can score right out of the gate!

Two TD's called back at UC Davis puts Eags within two points of 50. Not every team left on the schedule will execute this type of offense perfectly, not to mention a defense that stops the Eags possession after possession. 50 is in the future, probably this week against ISU. My prediction is less because would rather see balance and own TOP and want the team to practice it because it takes patience. This combination is playoff gold and it helps the defense out IMO. If the defense contributes more stops or turnovers, 50 is a given.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us establish the run more to give our D a breather.

BSC teams know better than anyone else how to stop us.

Regarding this weekend, ISU is MUCH better on both sides of the ball. They have the Big Sky's number one rusher in Finney, number two passer in Arias, and number three receiver in Mangum. And that's against two FBS and a 3-1 Sac State. Speaking of which, the Bengal D held Sac, a team averaging over 40 PPG to 24.

will we see 50 again? Yes! Davis is maybe not the best team out there in terms of W/L but they are one of the few teams in the big sky, save maybe Weber who are traditionally a very physical team. they had a good game plan to limit our touches but I don't think theres a lot of other teams in the Sky who have the personnel to do that.

I don't care if we score 50 points in another game this season as long as we are still winning. Well, except for Montana. I hope we score 100 on them.

The primary reason we will not see 50 again is Baldwin has too much class to run the score up on a lesser opponent. I do not think there is another offense in conference that can score enough points to push Beau to keep the pedal down. He would give more reps to reserves so they are ready when "next man up" is needed.

Dunno. We saw last year when we had a huge lead on Montana...Baldwin started playing conservatively and then were able to score a bunch of points in the 4th. I doubt he makes that kind of mistake again. I think this team only knows how to play one speed- FAST.

You're better than this Kris.

Sac is 3-2, and has averaged 41 points... against the likes of Incarnate Word, Menlo, and Weber.

ISU's D is terrible.

I think our 4th quarter strategy has changed since that game, but so has our running game. That game was the turning point in our run game last year.

We saw over 50 against ISU last year. Why wouldn't we against an ISU team that is better in 2014 than they were in 2013?

Sometimes not sure if these perspectives are based on passing the eyeball test or slightly superstitious in nature. Agree with Screamin'. Eags roll ISU's D assuming we limit penalties and turnovers.
