Can the offense still score 50+?
That was kind of my point, teams will learn to drag the game out as their best chance to stay in the game so we will get less "touches".EWU98 said:Once we get ahead teams will not be disciplined enough to try and drag the game out with run after run after run to chew the clock.
I figured that is what you were getting at but I think when we get up 2 scores teams will have no choice to throw that game plan out the door. I totally expect more games like SHSU than the one we saw this past weekend.clawman said:That was kind of my point, teams will learn to drag the game out as their best chance to stay in the game so we will get less "touches".EWU98 said:Once we get ahead teams will not be disciplined enough to try and drag the game out with run after run after run to chew the clock.

As much as I hate not getting the ball after half I think that this is a great adjustment . . .as long as we can score right out of the gate!marceagfan5 said:clawman said:As the season goes along teams are getting a lot of looks at Eagle film. Absolutely we will see 50+. Some of the teams on our remaining schedule are not very good and 4 of the last 7 are at home. We could easily see Eastern put up 50+ on ISU this weekend. Teams may figure out a way to slow EWU down, but do they have the personnel to do so.....
If teams start to play the way UC Davis did, and remember, they are one of the few heavy rushing teams in our league, we will try to build a lead early. Baldwin loves to defer the kickoff to the 2nd half, but we may see that change if teams start to run it on us so we can break out to an early lead.

Don't make us wait to long for your prediction on the predict thread dude.Rjones61 said:We will see fifty this weekend.
Dunno. We saw last year when we had a huge lead on Montana...Baldwin started playing conservatively and then were able to score a bunch of points in the 4th. I doubt he makes that kind of mistake again. I think this team only knows how to play one speed- FAST.clawman said:The primary reason we will not see 50 again is Baldwin has too much class to run the score up on a lesser opponent. I do not think there is another offense in conference that can score enough points to push Beau to keep the pedal down. He would give more reps to reserves so they are ready when "next man up" is needed.

BSC teams know better than anyone else how to stop us.
Regarding this weekend, ISU is MUCH better on both sides of the ball. They have the Big Sky's number one rusher in Finney, number two passer in Arias, and number three receiver in Mangum. And that's against two FBS and a 3-1 Sac State. Speaking of which, the Bengal D held Sac, a team averaging over 40 PPG to 24.

You're better than this Kris.
Sac is 3-2, and has averaged 41 points... against the likes of Incarnate Word, Menlo, and Weber.
ISU's D is terrible.
