Will we win a D1 non-conference game?

I thought last year we were lucky to get 3 non conference wins. After last night, I am not sure we can get 1 this year.

Central Michigan is likely better than SDSU
The other teams in the Florida tourney are pretty good
Denver looks like a good defensive team
UVU is probably our best bet.
BYU will be ugly
Portland isn't great this year.
SDSU being at home probably won't make a huge difference, we were dominated.

As has been posted elsewhere, Coach Rahe was quoted as saying, "We always start to play our best basketball in the middle of December. Our system is very complex, and we’ve got guys that aren’t totally comfortable yet."

I repeat this since Weber State gets their rematch with South Dakota State on December 22. Granted, Weber State should do better this go around since it's a home game, but aside from that, hopefully Rahe puts his money where his mouth is.

Not that I buy the excuse to begin with, but he at least better have his team prepared by then. If not, I honestly hope his seat gets a little warm, and not from the holiday foods he will be eating.

We only have 2 home d1 games. Usu and sdsu and they are 5 weeks apart. In December we play 4 away in a row from Dec 5 to 18. Hopefully we can win some of these games. We really should not have lost to usu. No excuse is valid for me.

Does Antelope Island U. count as a D1 win? The way the game started last night, I thought to myself...this is going to be a lo,nnnng season. But the Cats got it going and looked pretty good for about half the game. We just may be pleassntly surprised going forward. Isn't that what life is al about...forward motion?
GEAUX WILDCATS!

I will predict that the Cats get at least 2 d-1 wins. Lol, the team I looking really good, I think there will be a few more d-1 victories before conference.

so far looking at all the schedules our other ooc opponents aren't looking so dominant - byu, uvu, portland...but south dakota state is 5-0 and smoking teams.

This was a legitimate question a week ago. I still do not believe that we will beat BYU ever again, but a win at Denver would be impressive, and is plausible. Portland looks vulnerable, but worry about SDSU even at home.
