Yikes! The "Tribe" have fantastic statistics! They have beat FBS Virginia and a top 10 team in UNH, but lost to top 10 Villanova and Richmond. The remainder of their schedule has included weak teams such as Towson, Rhode Island and Northeastern.

William and Mary have one of the best defenses in the CAA - maybe the best. They are strong against the run and balanced offensively and defensively, but is it also fair to say they have not faced a passing attack as strong as Weber's and possess neither a quick strike nor a high scoring offense, even against their weakest defensive opponents. Their highest scoring game was 39 points against 1-10 Rhode Island.

W&M is a traditional ball control team and averages more than 32 minutes of possession per game, but except for FGs, their special teams performance is not as good Weber's, so the Wildcats may be able to earn advantages in field position and opportunities for short field scores over the course of the game.

The Tribe have led at halftime in seven of their games and won each of them handily. They split the two games in which they trailed at halftime, as well as the two games in which the score was tied.

Tribe will host Weber State in playoff opener

WILLIAMSBURG -- The College of W&M drew 15th-ranked Weber State University for the first round of the NCAA Football Championship Series playoffs, a game that will be held at Zable Stadium Nov. 28. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
The Tribe got an at-large bid to the playoffs, falling to No.6 in the final FCS poll after a 13-10 loss to Richmond on Saturday. The Spiders won on a 48-yard field goal as time expired.

Weber State (7-4) is the only four-loss team to make the tournament bracket. Two of the Wildcats' losses came against BCS teams, losing 29-22 to Wyoming and 24-23 to Colorado State. Weber State was ranked much of the season, as high as 13th.

W&M is one of four teams from the Colonial Athletic Association invited to the playoffs. Villanova (10-1), which earned the conference's automatic bid, is seeded second and will host Holy Cross (9-2). Richmond (10-1) is seeded fourth and will host Elon (9-2). New Hampshire (9-2) will play at McNeese State (9-2).

Montana (11-0) is the only undefeated team in the playoffs and is seeded first. Southern Illinois (10-1) is seeded third.

Hello from the east...Please do not look at our margin of victory in most of our games. We were ahead at hafl time, had the game in control and just sat on the ball in many of our early games. Our QB was a bit banged up and Coach Laycock went very vanilla on offense ,and let our D control the game. Even in our win against U.Va. in the second half we keep it close to the chest, belive me we should have scored more on them, and wanted to
Our defense has been our strong suit which is not normal in W&M football history. Speed is our strong su

Somehow I think it is odd that the NCAA is sending you guys across the country to Virginia ,who did you make mad ? Too bad because we have a beautiful state, town and campus and are very happy to welcome visitors.

I don't know about the rest of Wildcat fans but I for one am excited to have our WSU team play back east, it is a game that never would happen during the regular season. A direct flight back east is probably better than taking a bus to some of our conference games. The only thing that sucks is it is bad for fans traveling, $$$.

 Tell the Hawaiians they can come in through Hampton Roads from the Chesapeake Bay, up the James River to College Creek, and wade ashore at Lake Matoaka which is on campus. We'll be waiting with towels, but they'll be gold!

It’s great to see you guys made it into the playoffs. I saw the first half of the cal poly game on BigSkyTV and you guys completely dominated them. I must admit, I enjoyed every second of it. I would have watched the whole game but I had to tune into our men’s hoops team pull the upset in Oregon State. ;)

Best of luck to you all in the playoffs and I hope you show those easterners what a passing attack can really do. 8-)

Last year we got snubbed by the ncaa for another CAA team ,U of Maine. We beat teams they lost to,so Making this year's tourney is very special for us and we felt we had earned a home game with our record in a VERY tough conference. This year the FCS teams only won 4 games against FBS teams....Villanove beat Temple (bowl eligable) Richmond beat Duke, U New Hampshire beat Ball State and W&M beat U.Virginia.... JMU lost in OT to Maryland on a bogus call ...

Here are video links so you guys can get a better look at the Tribe. The first is a promo for this weeks game, and starts with footage of our 2004 run featuring Payton Award winner Lang Campbell. W&M has a long history of attracting talented walk-on players, and Campbell was one such player. This year's team is no exception, as Buchanan Award candidate Adrian Tracy also came to Williamsburg as a walk-on.

Thanks for the video link! The W & M defense looks awesome. #25 looks extremely fast on offense. The pick 6 against Virginia was sweet! Hope we bring our "A" game on Sat. I found out I will be flying in late Thurs. night so I will have all day Friday to enjoy the area. Hope to see you at the game!

WOW
what a video, great highlights...W&M, whew.....so impressive, should WSU even get on the plane to play you guys. Since you were snubbed last year, you have so much momentum going into the game, and your players....surely NFL bound don't you think??? Just WOW, i hope our team doesn't get a hold of this, they might get really intimidated be everything....

C'mon, nothing meand nothing at 1:01 pm on Saturday.....time to Man Up, Strap Up, and Shut Up......leave it on the field. It's going to be a great game!!!
