Winning Out

I think we have a good chance of winning out now that Parker Kelly is stepping up. Chiverton has disappeared the last three games. Still like our chances. What do others think?

In the pregrame show, Hayford said that Chiverton not only has the fractured foot, but a broken finger. I'm gonna guess that's why his shooting % has gone down. Also, I don't like our chances for winning out. ISU has come on strong, and is in 3rd place. I still think we'll squeak into the tourney, but we're not getting to host.

I would be very surprised if we win out!!! Not likely! I just want us to at least make the conference tourney at this point!

We are 1 game out of 4th place, 2 out of 3rd. If we win on Wednesday, we almost lock ourselves into the big sky tourney as we would lead UNC by 1.5 games with 3 to go. We also play ISU twice and PSU once, if we win out (conference games) we will finish in 3rd. Considering I think we beat UNC, If we go 2-1 after that including a win at PSU, we should end up 4th. If we go 1-2 we will be playing on the road in the tourney, 0-3 and we may not make it and probably don't deserve too if thats the case.

Win out? I want some of whatever 1990 is smoking! Need I remind everybody that within the last 10 days, we barely won on the road against one of the 20 worst teams in D1 (NAU - 331rpi) and got beat AT HOME by Sac State who is 310 in the rpi. At least we must have defended with a little heart at Weber to hold them below 40%. I guess that is cause for a little optimism??? Call me skeptical, but since the middle of December I havent seen anything that would lead me to believe we can win 5 games in a row - including 3 on the road. This team has regressed quite a bit since mid-December.

Maybe marceag has a point about Chiverton because Dean's shooting % dropped dramatically from his freshman year to his soph year when he played with the broken foot. I tend to think Chiv's poor % is more a function of the god-awful shots that he attempts (same for Colimon), and that Dean's % decrease was probably more related to missing 2 months of practice from mid-Oct until nearly Christmas. But I can see how the argument could be made.
