We need to get the win so we don't have to hear them do Ohio's winning team/losing team chant.

Gotta love the originality of the USU chants. Don't tell them that they are, lets say borrowing, someone elses idea.

It was nice seeing such a large contingent of Ohio fans at the game tonight. Funny how they only did the winning team losing team chant. Nice Originality Ag's.

We know where it came from and had a discussion on it on our forums the other day. We didn't come up with it but we made it famous.

You made it famous or infamous?? After Ohio's been doing it for 50 years?

Lets be honest, only a handful of teams outside of Utah even knows about the Spectrum. I want to know USU made its sooo famous?? Nobody back east even knows about USU or cares. In my opinion being famous garners nation wide acclaim. Also, even if they did know about USU and its Spectrum, I woudn't want to be known as the crowd/university that ripped off someone elses tradition.

Oh, I also, really appreciate how you ripped off one of Weber's old traditions dating back to the Swenson days when our students would turn our backs on the opposing teams during introduction. My parents really liked the compliment from such a highly regarding institution of higher learning. Love the originiality of USU and its fans!!

However, dressing a fat ass up is pretty impressive. I'm sure this is the high point of his life.

Turning your backs on the opposing teams during introductions isn't something that Weber came up with. I've seen it done at High School and college games across this country. Also, Ohio hasn't been doing Winning Team, Losing Team for 50 years. From my understanding, they started it about 10 years ago. They were the first to do it but I never saw it until Utah State did it and the first I saw it at Utah State wasn't because I was at the game, it was being featured on ESPN. That's what I mean by Utah State made it famous. The ESPN announcers all said that they had never seen anything like it. Is that not national recognition? Utah State is bulding a name for itself as well. When Wild Bill was hospitalized over the summer it made the front page of ESPN.com and was a featured story on Sports Center.

so let me get this right Utah State is building a name for itself through WildBill.
LMAO!!!!!!!!!

For all the Hype you guys didn't even sell the place out. Only seats what... 9,500?
With 4,000 students and can't sell the place out. All the Hype that is Aggie bball you would think you could get 5,500 non students to the season opener.
Nothing would make me happier than to see uSu lose big to Byu this week, and you will in Provo. For all the hype that is also uSu bball you would think you would have a tourney win that doesn't date back a decade. How bout trying to build National recognition through Tourney wins like Weber did in the late Nineties, nobody gives a damn about fatty Bill.

ok this is so ridiculous i have to chime in.

First: Ohio's chant. we know it was theirs. when we first did it, the way we explained it was "Ohio U does this awesome chant, here is how it goes..." and watched the vid on youtube to get it down.

Second: Famous, yes. I'm in law school at U of Oregon, and when I say I went to undergrad at utah state, the FIRST thing people say EVERY TIME is along the lines of "they have a crazy basketball crowd" or "they always have a good basketball team (too bad your football team is so bad)." same thing when I lived in fresno for a summer or when I go home to vegas.

Third: I told my friend, who was born in ogden and moved when he was in elementary school, that we played weber this week. He asked "is that a d1 school?" HE DIDNT EVEN KNOW WEBER WAS IN UTAH. and he was born IN OGDEN! lol!!!!!!!!! I thought it was just a fluke, and his roommate knew weber was d1 and in ogden, but NOBODY else had ever HEARD of weber state. nobody out of the group of 7 or 8 who were talking basketball with me.

Be honest, the winning team losing team chant is really cool. Everybody loves it. Even opposing teams love it, when they aren't playing us. It is blunt and loud.

And as for weber coming up with turning your backs to the other team ..... wow. just wow. I bet schools were doing that since college basketball was around. and i bet they have done it in the spectrum just as long as at weber. I know they did it at unlv when i went to games as a kid.

I didn't know Weber was in Ogden either...I'm pretty sure Weber's two 14 seed upsets are more famous than anything USU has done. People who you talk to that do not know anything about basketball wouldn't know about Weber St but they also wouldn't have heard of Butler, Davidson, Northern Iowa & Murray State.

Playing 20 home games a year and getting 23 wins a year is pretty cool but either not making the big dance or losing the first round everytime when your expected to be good isn't that impressive. Getting 30 wins should be enough to be ranked or even win a tourney game but it wasn't. Having Weber as one of your best wins every year isn't helping you when you have 25 or more wins and expect a 5 seed.

I saw the same thing at Weber when I was a kid. Wow...sounds pretty stupid, huh? I hope you don't become a trial lawyer. You'll never be able to feed your family.

I normally try to stay away from this type of stuff (SMACK TALK), but your entire reply was ridiculous, especially for a LAW STUDENT. Have you learned anything about arguments? Wow, the U of O supposedly had a good school. You are proof that it isn't. Way to DICK MEASURE with heresay and unsubstantiated evidence.

Your argument is full of "I heards", "somebody said", and "I think." Just because you say something, we are supposed to believe it?? Wow, Weber isn't a DI, yeah, like I haven't heard that one before, but it doesn't matter. Weber is and has been since being a 4 year school. Whats even funnier about your DI argument is that it hurts USU. If Weber wasn't DI thats pretty embarrassing that USU was losing to a non DI on the mighty spectrums floor, and needed a lot of help from WAC refs. Also, since Weber is one of the best teams the MIGHTY Ag's face every year you should be grateful we are a stronger DI. Weber helps USU's RPI and strength of schedule.

I was going to write more, but I don't want to waste anymore time dealing with an ignorant person. I saw this when I was this age, so evidently we are all suppose to believe it..Wow...

Also, Wild Bill was hosptialized...Wow, those are the type of things USU fans want to be remembered by?? What about your academic programs? Its a good school, but its know for some fat dude that dresses up in costumes at games? Holy Shiz?? You've got to be kidding. IN CASE YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND THIS, BUT WILD BILL IS AN EMBARRASSMENT. He is everything USU doesn't want to be remembered for; Drunken, do-nothing students, which it, USU, isn't. Hell, what about the Sigma Nu pledge that died from Alcohol poisoning... Wow!! USU got front page news for that one too. Why didn't you include that in your rant. As a USU alum, I DON'T want my school to be associated with those type of things. IN job interviews its better to be asked about the academic substance you received not the idiots who attend your school. KINDA DEMINISHES the academic integrity of the school.
