One of their starting linebackers was tagged with a targeting call in the NAU game so he will be out the first on Saturday.

We beat Weber on Saturday and we will finish 10-1 with a top 2 seed...

And we should beat Weber...

I agree, it is 10-1 for the Eags. But, it looks like UC Davis is gonna be very tough and Weber just got caught in a trap game looking ahead to next week. Don’t be fooled by their loss today, Weber will be fired up at home on Saturday. That being said, unless we throw 3 ints, fumble a kickoff inside our 20, and give up another kickoff for a TD like we did in Pullman I see us back in the semifinals in December.

Eags producing incredible stats and now over the hump. Sincere wishes Gage heals fast and can complete the career stats he's capable of. Meantime Eric's giving us great football and we'll probably finish as indicated above. Always proud to be an Eagle!

Thought this one might be for all the marbles, now it's looking like the UC Davis game. Last week Weber lost to NAU and had 5 TO's in the game... NAU had 6 TO's... Don't care to see this type of sloppy play this coming Saturday.

Weber is 117th in offense at 243 yds/gm... :ohno:

Both Eastern and Weber are allowing 5.1 yds/play, Weber allows 133 on the ground and Eags are 169 per game.

Weber seems to have a knack for keeping games close but nothing in these stats suggests they can. We will likely be giving Barriere his second start of the season after a week of getting 1st team reps. I like the odds. Take care of the ball, reduce penalties and Eag's control this one front to back.

Eastern WINS going away! 45 - 17

** will add video highlights if I find one **

I'd be happier if I knew Gubrud was going to play....

I can't speak too much on Weber because the only games I've watched were them getting manhandled by a good Utah team and the last few minutes of their loss to NAU.

It would appear - on paper, at least - this is the first FCS team we'll play where we don't have a rather significant talent advantage. I like catching them off a loss. I don't like catching them in Ogden.

I feel like we *should* win this one. If Barriere starts, I hope Gubrud is at least suited and ready to step up if needed. I always worry a new QB has growing pains at the worst time. And frankly, our receivers looked great early in the year but suddenly don't seem to make the kind of catches that can bail out a young QB. Obviously, having a lot more diversity in our attack is helping a lot.

The other big positive is that we seem to be killing teams off this year, when in many previous years, we let teams hang around with a close score instead of just stepping on their throats. Because of our 2018 mentality, I still like Eastern. But if we revert to the "old" defense or have a one-dimensional offense, Weber can certainly find a way to win.

What's the scoop with Weber QBs? Do they play two QBs by design?

Watching the second half of their NAU game it appears they are looking for someone to step up. The "other" kid is from Washington.

Weber thrives on their D setting up a short field for their offense which isn't very good. Eags take care of the ball and win by 2-3 scores. If the Qbs take chances, it'll be close.

We always seem to struggle with Weber even in our best years. That said, I think our defense is probably a little better than theirs this year if not comparable, and we have the obvious advantage on offense. As it's a road game I think it'll be much closer to the game we played against NAU rather than the CP or SUU games.

If we can get out of Ogden with a “W” I’ll feel a lot better about our playoff hopes. Truth be told, we haven’t played anyone good yet. This will be the toughest test to date outside of Washington State.

Or maybe our earth stopping defense makes every other team look bad 8-)

Good point, the D has been a pleasant surprise. Tiuli looks unblockable at times and the linebacker play has been fast and physical. Our D may just shut Weber’s offense down. Good news, heard we’re getting Keith Moore back this week. Another big body on the d line never hurts.

I seem to remember another young Eagle QB who wore the #3. Got his first start a few years ago at Weber and turned out to be pretty good. I actually think EB is a better weapon against the Wildcats.
