The Lady Hornets fall to top seeded Stanford 3-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Still a great achievement to make it to the tournament. Great season! 8-)

STANFORD, Calif. - The Sacramento State women's soccer team hung tough with the No. 1 ranked team in the nation and it was scoreless at halftime, but the Hornets lost 3-0 to Stanford in the first round of the NCAA Women's College Cup on Friday night in front of 1,808 fans at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium. The Hornets finish the 2010 season with a 9-10-1 record while the Cardinal improve to 19-0-2 with the victory.

I was very proud. Seemed like our GK was a very busy girl. 3-0 loss, but she was busting her tail, and we did better against them than in 2007, when we lost 7-0. Very proud of Randy Dedini (who was my local pro GK in Pittsburgh when I lived there after Sac State), and Maureen, the first assistant, who played for the hornets while I was at Sac State.
