Today's Spokesman Review reports the likelihood of Coach Leach's move to Tennessee. Given that he recently said that he would NOT be going to Tennessee, it sounds like the sure thing to me. It's been mentioned in the forum that Coach Baldwin would be interested in, or considered for HC at WSU. Speculations? Opinions? Comments?
 
After the Paul Wulff fiasco in Pullmam, how would the Cougar faithful feel about hiring another ex-Eastern guy as their head coach? (I don't have any doubt he could get the job done if given the chance.)
 
If they want to keep the current culture together, I think they offer the job to DC Alex Grinch. Can’t argue with the work he’s done on defense for WSU. Baldwin isn’t gonna get a fair shake, as he will be paying for the sins of Wulff. Donors and boosters remember these things and as you’ve seen in Tenneesee and other places (Arizona State with June Jones a few years ago), they will wield their influence from time to time in order to keep the program from making what they think would be a bad decision.
 
Read on ESPN that they have already agreed to hire the DC at WSU if Leach bolts. Looks like he will not get the Vols job as the AD just got canned after 6 months. Sounds like a dumpster fire down there. With that said also sounds like Leach turned down a extension...interesting position he is now in...one foot out the door and nowhere to go.
 
I think it would be more likely to see BB replace Smith as the Huskies OC. If The UW pays Jimmy Lake $500,000 you gotta think they could seriously increase the OC pay over Cal. All of Beau's NW recruiting connections, and I think Peterson has a quite a bit of respect for Beau.
 
The Tennessee AD was in a private jet in LA, not affiliated with Tennessee, He knew he was going to get canned. WIth his personal connections to the WSU it may not be far fetched to believe if Leach was meeting with him to see if they could co exist, not at Tennessee, but at WSU. He flew there to see Leach, not the other way around, as Leach was visiting recruits in the LA area.
 
The Oregon Head Coach position could cause a lot of dominoes to fall around the PNW if it comes open. Word is that Florida State has Willie Taggart as their top choice to replace Jimbo Fisher. If Taggart bolts, you have to wonder if they go after guys like Baldwin, Bryan Harsin, Jimmy Lake, etc. Hell, you almost wonder if Mike Leach would bolt in order to tap into that unlimited Nike support/money.
