Wow... Nevada clobbers Cal

Suddenly that 49 points we surrendered in game #1 doesn't look so bad... The Pack just chewed up Cal for 52. Really, much of that game was similar to our's vs. Nevada.

There is no doubt in my mind right now that Nevada is a legit top 25 team.

Now if we could only explain away that crap performance against Central as easily...

Perhaps it wasnt so much of a crap performance against CWU, but rather they stepped up and played a great game. Still not sure what to think of the CWU game, but I did think their QB was spot on for that night and thats never easy to defend. But we had a close game and our D didnt cave under the final drive (instead they stepped the f*** up!), so its nice to see that we were able to get that experience in close game situations.

Cal entered this game statistically the #1 defense in the nation.

Nevada can flat out score points. EWU is the only team this season to hold Nevada under 50.

It could have been a lot better than that. You have to remember Nevada started with the ball on our side of the 50 on the first two possessions of the game. Nevada's offense does not need that kind of help.

CWU is a very well coached team that doesn't get blown out too often. That being said, the Eagles did have a couple of opportunities to blow that game wide open. The fumble return for a TD that got called back was a 14 point swing.
