WR Coach Junior Adams to Boise State

Just saw on Vernon Adam's instagram that Coach Junior Adams is leaving to Boise for the same position. Best of luck!

talon38,
When I saw the thread from Vernon about Coach Adams going to Boise State, I mentioned to my daughter Chris, now is the time for Nick Edwards to get an opportunity to Coach WR for EWU. Great job. Hope you and the family had happy holidays. See you sometime this Spring. Vic Wallace

Nic Edwards as new WR coach????????????
The rumor is being confirmed by the Idaho Statesman.
If you look at Adams bio he brought more to the table than his playing career. That is important because all competitors are continually getting better. While it sounds great to promote a former player does it really grow the program? Does Nick bring more to the program than he takes?
On the upside Nick knows the ropes in Cheney and is a great success story for players coming in.
I am not forming a conclusion of dissing Nicks possibilities just looking at the bigger picture.

Not to dismiss his coaching abilities, but I think the bigger impact on this move could be in recruiting. Adams recruited Kaufman, Edwards, Herd, Kupp, all those guys...big loss. Best of luck Coach A.

What if Kupp wanted to follow Adams to Boise. He would miss his sophomore year and play two in the Mtn West.
Would he have to get a release from Eastern or could he just leave if Boise offered him?

I would highly doubt that Coach Adams would even ask any of the players to follow him, that would be looked at as highly unethical. I also doubt that Kupp would want to leave, he has a good thing going with Bauldwin and VA.

Didn't Adams recruit California for Eastern? I counted fifteen Californians that should be on the spring roster, and that doesn't include the two props, plus any recruits that sign next month and hopefully will also be here in the fall.

Won't happen; that would be highly unethical and is a big no-no, as is luring recruits away that have already committed. Big time faux pas.

Adams recruited in California quite a bit, but so does pretty much every other member of the staff. I remember seeing Coach Valeria tweeting quite a bit about visiting Cali recruits (names not specified) last year before signing day.

This. Adams was a huge asset to recruiting in addition to being an incredible coach. He's molded a lot of good receivers into great ones. Losing Junior Adams is a big loss.

That said, big gain for Boise State, and best of luck to you, Junior. Thanks for everything you did for the EWU program. :notworthy:
