WSU Coach: "I don't care about our record right now"

I guess if I was 3-7 over my last 10 games, this is what I would say without thinking about it. (You can't count Bristol)

I guess the community, and fans shouldn't care either. Take down the scoreboards, and we can just watch competition without keeping score, just like an AYSO kindergarten soccer league.

With ALL of the advantages, resources, salary, facilities. Shouldn't it be required, and expected of Rahe to own this league without question EVERY single year.

When was the last time Gonzaga started out 0-2 in the WCC?

We are not Gonzaga, not by a mile. We're not even St. Mary, 30 years ago yeah we owned Gonzaga but they are leap years ahead of us now, why, because we are stuck in a low end conference, and can't get anyone to come play us at the Dee unless they suck, or have to (old bracket-buster).

i bet if we looked back far enough we could find a thread with me complaining about the sky being the 18th ranked conf. but really we didnt fall below 24 until und & suu joined as far as a i can recall. im surprised to see the wac at #33. i honestly didnt know it was still around.

YIKES!! Oh how the Sky has fallen. Painful seeing how bad the conference is. What is worse is that Weber is in the same boat. Maybe it is time for Douglas Fullerton to let teams in the conference recruit Prop 48ers.

Of course he cares. All of the coaches, players, and fans care. Coach is simply trying to protect the players from the ire of the media and fans. He's got a young team and a season he is trying to salvage. He is not going to contribute to their falling apart. He is making every effort to hold them together all the way to the end of the season and beyond.

We all get a little tired of 'coach speak'. We all role our eyes at 'one game at a time', 'they wanted it more', 'we wanted it more', 'one step at a time', etc. However, coaches have to say those sorts of thing or they get fried in the media and stoned by the fans. I'm willing to cut him a little slack on this one. :yikes:

Com'on man! really!
What do you want Rahe to say? Tell you that he's so sad over being 0-2 in conference that he's going home tonight and slit his wrist?

Tough season, but the kids are grinding, its one thing if they're not improving, but I think they've look better since conference started. Are there issues? Absolutely, but theres no doubt in my mind that they're being addressed. This is not a young team any more.... they've played too many games to ride that crutch.

Coach is saying what he's suppose to say to help his team. He's not suppose to panic and rip "Weber" off of every players jersey. I want to see Weber win just as bad as anyone else on this forum, but is it realistic to expect them to do well every year? Duke, Carolina, Kentucky, UCLA and others have tough years....... why can't Weber?

Take a look at Florida this year..... if they can have a year to reload, why not Weber?

 that is awesome! oddly....rahe's worst team of his career was probably the highest ranked the sky has been in the same time frame.

it sure makes a difference having just one sub 300 (cringe) vs 3 of them these days.
