Anybody else notice that WSU has been added to the header of the sports section of the Deseret News? When they switched to their new format several months ago, they dropped the WSU shortcut in the header; now it is back. :clap:
 
Maybe Weber is starting to get a little more respect now, though I wouldn't hold my breath.


last night only KSL showed highlights of our win over Air Force and even an interview with Scotty B.

Channel 2 showed a score. Thanks guys

For awhile now, I've watched occasionally KSL Sportsbeat & KUTV Sportszone news coverage & found it in the following order: JAZZ/ RSL/ BYU/ UTAH/ UTAH STATE/ back to JAZZ or NBA or NFL/ more BYU/ (THEN to the news of less importance, 3 commercials later!) WSU. DRIVES ME CRAZY! :yikes: But at least KUTV sports regularly runs a banner line at the start with the local scores - yes, even WSU & SUU. THANKS!! On KSL radio, it's all BYU...hardly mentions Weber at all (football/basketball). :ohno:

I have long since stopped looking towards the local media for "local" sports, least of all KSL (of course, that excludes the Standard). However, years ago I e-mailed the 4 local TV affiliates about their inability to provide any Utah sports news outside the Big Two, and USU occasionally. Not surprisingly, I only received one reply-- from channel 2, if I remember-- stating :blah: :blah: :blah: there is only so much time and they have to cover the interests of the majority of viewers :blah: :blah: :blah: . By the way, with KSL particularly, you forgot to include Jimmer in your order of interest. I've never witnessed a bigger man-crush in my life as Kirkland on Jimmer.

Is it any wonder Weber struggles with interest and support? They can't even get mentioned on the "local" news, even when they're the only show in town. It is nice during the occasion that this same media whines about the big two being overlooked or left out of something-- I just smile and think to myself: carma's a b.1tch.
 
Well...if anything, it is a step BACK in the right direction (since they already had a tab for us).

Weber, even if they were the only team in the NCAA, winning games in the Dance, and having a Naismith candidate wouldn't be a high priority in the Utah media. Besides, hasn't the above mentioned things happened before? I mean Lillard wasn't hardly mentioned till after he started tearing up the NBA.
