WSU vs UI

OK...What can we expect from the Wildcats (winless so far this year  ) in game #2? Will they get Vandalized or take care of business & get a precious (this year in BSC) road win in Moscow? Idaho handled ISU fairly easy and are playing good basketball right now according to Jon@BigSkyBasketball.

Weber by 5! I heard it was a long night for the Young Cats in Moscow! Coach Rahe is in conference season mode!

Sorry for the pessimism but Rahe is not familiar enough with I da ho, this might as well be a OOC game which doesn't seem to hold his attention the same as familiar BSC foes. I think Weber struggles to get this one and usually my predictions fail, so here's hoping.

I hated UI 1.0, I hate UI 2.0! I doubt they are still the same Idaho State Prison farm team but who knows.

Interesting article in today's SE on Jaelyn Johnson-Coston for those interested...

I hope he gets things figured out and has a successful rest of the year and next. I'm pulling for him to do well. If he can just hold on to the ball, that's about half the battle. I really think Rahe needs to put the right combination on the floor to get the best out of an undersized Coston. There's no reason he can't be a great bench/role player for this team.

Senglin misses two shots before the half then stands there and plays no D as Idaho chucks up a buzzer beater to go up more at half. :wall:

Rebounding needs to pick up! Not sure why we get our butt kicked in the paint!!

Why is he still on the court. He is not Berry or Dame, he needs to get the other players involved, that is when he is the best. Also, we need out guards to get in there and rebound, they got too many easy shots after an offensive rebound.

Not sure what is worse Senglins defense or Carl Arkeys voice. He sounds super sick. Can Grua or someone take over for him?

Worst shooter on the floor (Senglin) letting them fly at will. Often, no one around for a rebound try. Weber needs better D from their guards and less poor shots taken, but that's pretty obvious.

Not sure how Arkeys voice is but I am sure it might be as bad.

We were the top free throw shooting team until Seglin steps to the line. He is a freaking guard, he should be better. Plus why are we letting them set up the press.

Missed free throws........ = 0-2

ANYONE plays defense at the end of the half on that half court prayer and we win the game. Can't ever give up when your on the floor :ohno:

Better game statistically, and the starting 5 looked better in this one. Seem to be developing a little better rhythm? Defense was pretty soft still and again a weak effort from the bench. Richardson still shines and not sure why he is not getting more minutes? Free throws could've pulled this one out. Are we finally showing some improvement?

We can't seem to put a complete game together. If it's not turnovers that kill us, it's rebounding. Or free throws, or shooting, or......

Great game! I thought the team played very well! The only complaint is that we lost the scoring battle in the paint by double digits again! Three pointers are awesome but you have to have the threat of an inside game. It's dangerous to fall in love with three pointers.

It looks like the team is coming together. A ways to go, but coming together. Tough loss for a young team, but impressed with how they fought until the end. They're probably not going to win the conference, but they could make a lot of noise in the tourney.

It's going to be good to have them back at the Dee!

Good news...Weber is starting to get into an offensive rhythm and the guys are hitting their shots. Bad news our interior defense is really soft. Weber desperately needs a big to man up and get tough. Also, why stick with the same defense? Why not try a half court trap or a zone once in a while? I just don't get it. Could be the difference from being a good team to becoming a great team.

Rahe should post up Hill sometimes. Especially if Hill is playing the 3. Pull the bigs out and let Hill play with his back towards the basket. He is perhaps our best weapon in that area. Weber needs more inside.
