Looks like you've got a very slight edge. Thank God for Wa-Griz, which most credit with a TD+. Oh, then there's the false starts. GRIZ WIN!

Football is a game, one that I enjoy, but it is still a game. I think many um fans take this way too seriously.
I do hope Weber wins this Saturday. I went to the playoff game last year and I have never been to a place where the fans and people are as rude and disrespectful. The entire student section chanting "F - you Weber" How long did it take you to think up that taunt?
Yes, you have a big stadium and have a lot of fans. Yes, you have a winning tradition. But, at what cost?
Before I went to the game, I had a somewhat positive view of the university and your program. Now, after learning more about your football players propensity for committing assaults and other felonies, your coaches ongoing temper tantrum with your own student newspaper, and my experience with thousands of drunk fans last year, I have zero respect for your university. I have a totally negative view of who you are and what you do. Yes, you win, but are obviously deficient in the areas that matter most.

You beat UM and NAU and you're in the playoffs, 2 games! Doing that and UM winning out we get the auto-bid.

Doesn't matter what happens vs Cal Poly.

And this really has nothing to do with the game, but i was on egriz earlier, and there is a post about NDSU fans being mouthy saying NDSU could easliy win the Big Sky or Great west this year despite being 1-7, are they fools? well yes they are but now to the point. The funny thing about it is the Griz fans are calling the Bison fans ignorant, arrogant loud mouthed rude fans.

Wonder if any of them Fizz fans ever looked in the mirror.

And they all think McBride was classless because he wore a t-shirt with a skull on it to a game, but Hack isnt classless when he gets in fights with student newspapers?

Egriz, home of the double standard.

ANY!

Go out in the Zoo Friday night and those same fans won't let you buy a drink. Have a flat on the way out of town and they'll stop to see that you're ok. The embarrassing things that happen in Wa-Griz are brewed there and that's where they stay. Always exceptions, even where the fans wear "white dress shirts, out-of-fashion black ties, backpacks and ridiculously oversized name tags".

I caught a brief look before it broke.

Not that it matters much, but the latest poll is out. UM stays at #2, and Weber moves up to #14. Does anyone know the last time two Sky teams with higher national rankings met up?

Sports Network's FCS College Football Poll
Team (First-place votes) Record Points Previous Rank
1. Richmond Spiders (128) 7-0 3,409 1
2. Montana Grizzlies (7) 7-0 3,255 2

4. Villanova Wildcats (1) 7-1 3,013 4
5. William & Mary Tribe 6-1 2,797 5
6. Elon Phoenix 6-1 2,619 7
7. Appalachian State Mountaineers 5-2 2,536 8
8. New Hampshire Wildcats 6-1 2,386 9

10. South Carolina State Bulldogs (1) 6-1 2,105 10
11. Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks 6-1 1,915 15
12. Northern Iowa Panthers 5-3 1,845 6
13. McNeese State Cowboys 5-2 1,824 13
14. Weber State Wildcats 5-3 1,566 16
15. Central Arkansas Bears 5-2 1,443 18
16. Delaware Blue Hens 5-2 1,220 19

I'll take a wild guess and say it was in 1998 when the Grizzlees came to Ogden and got beat.

Nope, I just checked. Montana was 11th in the rankings and Weber State was 21st. This year, we're still the underdog and the game is at Grizzlee Stadium--which is one of the six most difficult stadiums to win at in the Big Sky.

Weber State better clean up the penalties and fumbles that we saw at UNC. I mean Montana is the 2nd BEST TEAM IN THE NATION! The pride of an entire state (save a few militia outposts) is riding on this game. And Montana a really big state too. I'm just estimating here, but it's like the size of five Utahs.

I've been looking over the stats for both teams and on paper, both teams look fairly even, other than the fact that the FBS schools on Weber's schedule are a tad better than the cupcakes Montana has played (WESTERN ST...Seriously).

it was in 1998
??? :?

I would hazard a guess that there have been ten to twelve games since 1998 where two BSC teams (Montana vs. either Eastern, MSU, NAU or Weber) have been rated as highly as this match-up.
