WSU vs WSU

I predict a WSU victory.

Actually, we do have a chance against our PAC12 opponent. Washington State has had some decent wins and one bad loss. They haven't ventured far from home so far. Like most PAC12 teams, they purchase about 10 wins per season to make things look better than they really are. That's probably why, in most years, PAC12 teams make an early exit from the NCAA tournament. Anyway, they look to be a bottom half PAC12 team. They took a loss to EWU, a bottom half BSC team.

Win or lose, I expect us to play hard against them. :coffee:

i watched a pac 12 post game show on pac12 channel last week. the pac "expert" said wazzu should be 5th best in the pac this yr.

one note about the big win by ewu which isn't great news for weber, wazzu's best player and leading scorer, noah williams (28 mpg, 13.6 ppg, 4 rpg, 2.4 apg) didn't play.

The day is finally here to see my 2 favorite teams play each other. Its going to feel weird cheering against the cougs, but I definitely would love to see a wildcat victory tonight. I have watched wazzu play a lot this year and they are very good, but have some weakness as well. Their strengths are they are deep. They play 10 guys a lot and Weber only plays 7-8 so I can see wazzu try to wear us down and beat us up. Wazzu is also very big. They play 3 guys that are 6-10 or bigger and they are all very good players. Wazzu is very good on defense. They only allowed 29 total on the road against Arizona State and just beat the crap out of the sun devils. My biggest worry against the Cougs is rebounding. That seems to be one of our weakness. If we can be pretty even in rebounding and not give up too many offensive boards, the wildcats have a very good chance. Wazzu is not a great shooting team and I notice their offense can get stale and just have 4 guys stand around while the guy with the ball goes 1 on 1. Reminds me of when we had Harding. The spread is 8 point favorite for the cougs. That seems high. I would bet the under. I think it will be closer than that. Rebounding is key in this game. My heart wants Weber to win, but my gut feels like the cougs will wear the wildcats down and the depth and size will be the difference. Wazzu 72 Weber 66 is what I would guess, but I hope I'm wrong. Go WSU!! haha

Very big road game! I think it will be a very hard fought game. I think the Wildcats have a good chance, and I’ll go with my heart and say Wildcats 68 Cougars 66.

Randy has to remember he has 13 scholarship players playing for him. Dillon Jones playing the 5 against a team that starts three big guys is not a recipe for success. HE needs to be on the floor though. If there is a night where Randy needs to spread the wealth and play Kozak and Bassett, tonight is it. Koby needs to stay on the floor and out of foul trouble. The Cats can't afford to miss open 3s. Hopefully we get a fair crew of refs.

I think every ref in the United States needs to go through a loooooonnnngg training on charges and blocks. I can't remember this many charge calls most are complete garbage. Also, refs in the western consortium need to learn from their eastern counterparts what is considered traveling. SOOOO many iffy travels last week.

I feel that Randy will stick to the same starting lineup and see how it goes. If it goes well for us, then Washington State will need to make the adjustments. It's nice to know that you have the horses to make those kindof adjustments. If our shooting returns to what it was in Florida, they will be scrambling to match up with us.

This is really a no lose game. We aren't expected to win and in the long run it really doesn't matter. Add on to that the $ we get from them. It's all good. :coffee:

That last 1:30 in the first half was a killer. Going from down 3 to 11…that could be a lot to overcome on the road.

Rebounding is our weakness…….. we have the talent, hoping Rahe makes some adjustments!

Definitely. A lot of posters were concerned about the rebounding, and it hurt tonight. Also, tip your hat to the Cougars shooting close to 60% from 3 point line. Not going to beat a team shooting that hot.

Rahe is stuck in the past. We have talent on the bench. Our starters play too many minutes. Going to have dead legs by March.

Yikes...that went from bad to worse really fast. Guys looked tired, rebounding was nonexistent, coach made 0 adjustments and our inside play was ugly. But, we do have a bench full of guys.
