Did anyone else find UND's strategy totally weird, or incohesive? I realize UND played like complete shit, so it's hard to really tell how good of a win this is for Eastern, but I can't say UND played much of a game.
What was up with pulling their starting QB when he had the team moving all over the field? They ran the ball right down our throats on the opening drive, then inexplicably stopped running. Let's get real, how many EWU fans saw that first drive and went "Oh man, here we go again!!" ?? hno:
But what struck me as most odd was that they just seemed to quit after halftime. Down 17 points, it would have been an uphill struggle, but based on how Eastern has played in the 3rd quarter recently, they still should've thought they had a shot. But they just started running dive plays into the face of the D like they were just trying to shorten the game. We really didn't see a single play of read-option in the second half that I can remember. :dunce:
Overall, a good game for Eastern, but I would've liked to hear UND's coach explain what he was doing--- especially on offense-- in an interview after the game. Still, good show EWU; we probably won't climb much in the rankings (we'll likely only pass Youngstown), and we were able to rest a few guys late in the game and get some seconds a good amount of time in preparation for Montana State.
