WTF UND ??

Did anyone else find UND's strategy totally weird, or incohesive? I realize UND played like complete shit, so it's hard to really tell how good of a win this is for Eastern, but I can't say UND played much of a game.

What was up with pulling their starting QB when he had the team moving all over the field? They ran the ball right down our throats on the opening drive, then inexplicably stopped running. Let's get real, how many EWU fans saw that first drive and went "Oh man, here we go again!!" ?? :ohno:

But what struck me as most odd was that they just seemed to quit after halftime. Down 17 points, it would have been an uphill struggle, but based on how Eastern has played in the 3rd quarter recently, they still should've thought they had a shot. But they just started running dive plays into the face of the D like they were just trying to shorten the game. We really didn't see a single play of read-option in the second half that I can remember. :dunce:

Overall, a good game for Eastern, but I would've liked to hear UND's coach explain what he was doing--- especially on offense-- in an interview after the game. Still, good show EWU; we probably won't climb much in the rankings (we'll likely only pass Youngstown), and we were able to rest a few guys late in the game and get some seconds a good amount of time in preparation for Montana State.

They kept switching QB's...had no idea what they hell they were doing. I thought the starter was injured, but then he came back in, then out, then in, then out....

UND pretty much gave up after we scored to go into halftime...it was over after that, they had absolutely no defense for us, we could have put up 70+.

When the slower, more immobile guy came in you knew they were going to throw and not try any zone-read option. Then when the faster guy came in you knew they were going to run. Good game plan.

It was just so odd that they never even really tried to do anything except capitulate in a game that was far from over after halftime. Did they have some key injuries that caused them to shrink the playbook? It was like they had no fight, or no interest. It just made no sense.

That first AND second drive had me pissed. They missed a huge 3rd down conversion (dropped by freshman wr). Seemed like they could have run that read option all night and Eastern wouldnt have had an answer.. I was sure thinking, WTF!!!!! Then EWU put up two TDs and the game was over. The early 3rd felt like late 4th. OR......... is Eastern just THAT DAMN GOOD? Vernon Adams sure looked the part.
:coffee:
