In the ISU game each team had 14 possessions. ISU had 381 yds total offense and the Eagles had 451 yds.
That calculates to:
Eastern had 32.21 yards per drive and ISU had 27.21 yds/ possession

It sort of shows the story of the game... and really the whole season...

Eastern isn't overwhelming or playing great, but doing enough. I think everyone is sort of waiting to see if we can throttle down and make big strides. It looks like Southern Utah has found their rhythm and Portland State is sorting themselves out, while Montana State have fallen apart. We need to figure out what direction we're going. It would be nice to see us make these big strides before the Montana game while we've got three games against teams that look very beatable.

I'll say this, offensively without Hill or Sblendorio, we no longer have a full stable of receivers. None of the other guys- Grady, Webster, Stiles, Eagle- have stepped up to be that next impact guy.

As good as West has played this year, it seems like he is really close to playing great. Sometimes it is a slow start or a few misses that stalls some drives, but when he really starts finding his rhythm watch out for this offense!

As a comparison,
Portland State 11 possessions 682 yds = 62 yds/poss. Portland St 59
Bobcats 12 possessions 440 yds 36.66 yds/possession MSU 42

Could someone clear up what is going on with Hill....I keep reading in here that he is out for the season and then on the releases he is week to week. Anyone know what is really going on? :coffee:

My understanding is out for season. I believe he originally was listed as week-to-week, but a further analysis of his knee indicated more damage (I can't remember for certain, but I think I recall it was some type of unusual damage to the patella tendon).

It sucks because without him or Sblendorio, we're struggling to find a good third receiving option. I think Sblendorio was out after only the first or second drive last weekend. His shoulder didn't hold up.
