Zach Johnson granted 6th year of eligibility

They said in the email that Tyler Hart still had paperwork to complete before his ruling.

What about Brandon Kaufman and the lineman (was it Ashton Miller? Can't remember) who were supposed to apply for an extra year due to injury? Can you only get a ruling after the 5th year?

Don't know about Miller, but I do know Kauffman was granted another year. Last I heard from the AD was that all were expected to be granted their appeals for another year of eligibility.

So does Kaufman actually have the year back... as in he'll be a returning sophomore? Or does he only get the hardship waiver upon completion of his fifth year and academic eligibility?

Kaufman played his freshman year in 2009 as a true freshman, so 2010 was his sophmore year, and 2011 was his junior year, which means he is given back his junior year and 2012 he will be considered a Junior because he had not red shirted his freshman year and did not play in enough games before injury in 2011. At least that is my understanding.

These are great news. Not only do we have a great set of veterans returning to provide us with some outstanding experience and performances, but also they will be there to mentor the underclassman another year. Can't beat on the job training along side some All Stars.

Can't wait til the spring game... anyone know when that is scheduled for? maybe the same weekend as Family Weekend.

I don't know the exact date, but I would expect the end of April. It's usually the same day as the Killin dinner which, if you haven't attended in the past, is a fantastic time. It's a fundraiser with unlimited prime rib and lobster tail (also finger foods) and an open (wine and beer) bar. In the past it's been around 80 or 90 per seat, or 500 per table of 8, but it's definitely worth it. The university will publicize it heavily so just be on the lookout.

My opinion only, but I would be real surprised if BK stays for a extra year. I've heard he wants to graduate with his class and possibly move on to the next level.

He certainly has the skill and size to play at the next level. Whatever his choice is, I wish him nothing but the best. Great to have choices.

Yes, killin weekend is a great 2 day event for EWU fans! The football coaches golf tournament will be at Fairways Golf Course again this year on April 27th. Sat, April 28th will be the Red/White game @ Roos followed by Killin. Goeags.com has the updated info. They normally will start the heavy advertising towards the end of this month..Rumor has it, Colin Cowherd might be coming back for Killin again! Great times!!
