Re: More Spring news...

According to his twitter account, Mott is transferring to Dixie State in Utah. He will play as a grad student. His family life is not the greatest so maybe he thought moving closer will be beneficial. I hope he does well. He is a heck of a player.

More Spring news...

Just saw in the Tribune that coach Grable is leaving the program to take a teaching/coaching job at Holy Family. There's a nice interview with him stating the new job will give him more time with his family. It will be strange to not see him on the sidelines. He is a true Bear. I hope he does well i...

Re: Spring Football

It's so hard for me to support this program right now. I usually show up for the Spring game, but didn't even think about going this year. I'll keep any eye on how things are, and I'll watch the games on tv when Fall comes, but until we start winning again I won't pay a dime. I hope I eat crow and t...

Re: Spring Football

My kids went to a practice 3 weeks ago, my son and I on Tuesday, and my son went to the scrimmage Saturday. So here's what we're seeing. QBs Knipp looks good. Goes through his progressions well and is on the page as the receivers. Has a nice touch on the ball. The #2 dude has a great arm. He's not ...

Re: Shout out to the basketball teams

geesh, our football program is horrible; our men's and women's hoops teams choked, baseball team is rebuilding...but hey at least wrestling is actually doing well.

Knipp playing baseball (and football?) at UNC and other musings

Jacob Knipp is playing baseball for the Bears and I think still might be trying to get his 6th year eligibility. I don't know what his chances are for this, but the guy is just not healthy and I doubt our offensive line will be able to protect him. It might also be best to just move on and give the ...

Possible change to division 2 or conferences.
Article says a change to D2 or conferences are not likely.

Re: Early signings

Most of these recruits are D2 talent. The only silver-lining to our "new" recruiting philosophy is that coach English is in charge now.

National Championship. Go Eagles!

NDSU and EWU for the chipper! I think the Eagles have a solid chance at unseating the champions. Their offense is ridiculously good (as we witnessed against our Bears). NDSU is a machine though. Strange to think, we have a bigger budget and about equal facilities to EWU yet they're consistent winner...

Re: Coaching Update

I'm okay with this hire, but I'm not sure it makes us that much better. Boyer was not the problem; and I'm so confused how Wikre still has a job. If Fulton can recruit and build a solid offensive line, then of course all is well.

Re: Coaching Update

Anyone have any inside info on what is happening with the staff vacancy's? Stitte is heading to Texas State, so it will not be him taking over the offense.

Re: Coaching Update

It looks like Tx State might be looking at Stitt for their o.c., at least according to Bruce Feldman. I’m fine with that. What about someone like the QB coach at NDSU? I love that style of football...smash mouth football. Just line up behind the big offensive line and run the ball down the opponents...

Re: Coaching Update

Mustari is reporting that Boyer is indeed out, and a likely replacement is Bob Stitt (Former Mines and Montana Griz head coach). The Stitt part is just a rumor, and I'm hoping it turns out false. I have never liked his offensive style. It's too gimmicky. Plus, his ego is too big for an assistant's j...

Re: Coaching Update

Northern Colorado (FCS): Sources tell FootballScoop offensive coordinator Jon Boyer has been let go. For active coaching changes, check out http://footballscoop.com/the-scoop/ That's too bad. I think Boyer is a good OC. I liked his play calling. Again, the first one gone should have been Wikre. It ...

Re: Coaching Update

I love the trib article where it's "coach collins is just going to change everything and that will work" That's a good point. What is he going to change? Honestly, he does need to change his recruiting philosophy. We've always been able to bring in great skill position guys, but the linemen are D2 ...

Re: So...what happened?

There is just need to win in college football in Colorado. Outside of the Broncos and some CU Buffs fans, college football for whatever reason is not a big deal in Colorado. It is not Texas, not Montana, not North Dakota. There is just too many other interests. The only "pressure" we can give the at...

Re: Head Coaching Candidate wish-list

I think these threads will be for nothing. I think the financial mess that Norton left the school will not allow his buyout and a higher salary for a new staff. Also, there is not indication from Troy nor Mustari about a change.

Re: So...what happened?

The Joe Glenn\Kay Dalton teams made up of mostly Colorado kids could have competed in the Big Sky better than these teams. There is no reason why we shoudnt at least be a middle of the pack team in the conference. Yes they did, and without half the budget we have now. The bottom line is this staff ...

Re: So...what happened?

1. We should not have moved up 2. Why would you play in Greeley if you grew up in Colorado, when you could storm the field in any other big sky school (Montana, Eastern Wash) where more than 2,000 people would show up on game day and the students would attend the games. (Student Section is a joke w...
