Re: Scheduling Issue

The way I read it is that their 5-year NET average needs to be at 175 or higher. While the story cites Oregon State as not having a qualifying schedule, it does say that the Ducks did, even with playing the Viks. My take is that the Pac-12 can still schedule the lesser conferences (Big Sky, Mountain...

Re: Big Sky 2020 -2023 schedule RELEASED

BTW, is Hillsboro now your home venue? It's actually not that bad of a place, but it suffers from the same issue Roos Field does with being so weirdly asymmetrical. If you could get 4-5,000 seats on the opposite side, it would be a great stadium. The issue, I'd assume, is being a downtown school an...

Re: Big Sky 2020 -2023 schedule RELEASED

Does anyone else find it odd that in 2021, 2022, and 2023, our games against Eastern Washington are no longer the last game of the year? The dates are: 9/25/21 at Cheney; then 10/22/22 at Hillsboro; then 10/21/23 at Cheney. Wonder what the backroom thinking was there... In 2020, our first home game...

Come on Oregonian, is it that hard to mention that he played at PSU?
They did mention him as a "former Portland State star" this time. :D

Re: Arkansas

I would like to, but it is becoming more of a pipe dream. Besides, Arkansas's campus is tucked up there in the NW corner of the state, near Missouri and, umm, Oklahoma. And I have a feeling they won't let anyone from Portland near Oklahoma for awhile. Not with my Trail Blazer plates. :thumb:

Re: Peery Watch, Round 2

Mark Pope got hired at BYU. Mark Madsen got hired at UVU. End of main subject... for the moment, anyway. Kind of doubt the Lakers will want to replace Madsen with Peery. With the Lakers, anything is possible. LeBron is running the show over there, might as well make him the head coach, president an...

Re: PSU, UP men's basketball going in different directions?

I'd say they are. I was pretty surprised that they didn't run Porter out of there after going 0'fer in conference play. Heck, we canned Geving after a 7-11 conference record. One would think that a booster or two would step up after an 0-16 conference record and pony up the funds to make a coaching...

Re: Peery Watch, Round 2

How impressed are those schools going to be with Peery at this point? Probably not. Peery might get hired on rep alone... and might not. The media (which matters not much) is making a really big beef during the tournament about one-and-done players. The media has a point. I'm not sure someone like ...

https://www.sltrib.com/sports/byu-cougars/2019/03/26/is-byu-basketball-coach/ The BYU coach is retiring (I should put quotes around that, but there's compound issues, so it's harder to question this decision). So... things clicked for 8 minutes. Imagine a fitter Hansen and another year wiser for Jimenez. Now can Portland State replace Bolston and West? Answer those questions and there’s a solid core for this team for two years. Like I mentioned on OLive, it is important for the team to use this as a step...
