Re: Viking Soccer 2019

Exhibition against U. British Columbia at 1:00 pm Thursday August 15 in Hillsboro. I guess there is no place to play soccer in Portland. Only a select few Europeans get to play soccer in the city. The rest of us have to look elsewhere. We're walking a fine line here. The last thing we need is for P...

Season forecast and predictions

Even with the unfortunate passing of Deante Strickland, there is still optimism regarding this season for the Viks, starting with Charlie Taumoepeau selected First Team All-American in every FCS publication (everyone is going to know how to spell his name by the end of the year). Here are my assessm...

ESPN has their 2019 Big Sky Conference preview: http://www.espn.com/espn/wire/_/section/ncf/id/27339675
That one doesn't paint too good of a picture. It is almost funny. ESPN should be better than that.

Just curious. Has any one seen Dr. Percy at a Viking football game?
Can't recall that I have, but then I don't scan the crowd saying "I bet that person there is going to be president someday."

Re: Charlie Taumoepeau

In this conference to succeed, it has been proven over and over that you need either a good, strong defense to shut down all the high flying offenses in the conference, or you need an experienced quarterback and at least one sure handed receiver in order to have a successful conference season. Betwe...

Re: Manufactured Or Real Conference Instability?

Ah, but it is coming from Montana. Greg Rachac is a sportwriter from Billings (albeit not a very good one), and the story did originate from there. The main quotes do come from Choate and Hauck (or who I call, "Choke and Puke"). The Big Sky does have the most members in the FCS but the gap is not as...

Re: Radio coverage?

While the 2019 Viking Football Media Guide lists "Rip City Radio 620 AM, www.ripcityradio.com" as providing radio coverage this season, the posted schedule indicates something different. The radio station is not listed as it has been in the past. Now the listen link for away games takes you to http...

this sounds like a great idea. I would probably would ask them to idle their phones while down there. Just ask them to make a commitment for three days to nothing but the football team. One other side benefit, if it's really hot out they will likely not have to battle the heat. According to Massey ...

From the College Sports Journal (makes me go hmmmm); http://www.college-sports-journal.com/2019-ncaa-division-i-college-football-team-previews-portland-state-vikings/ Sounds more like a rant from a Coloradoan who still harbors ill feelings towards anything Portland after the Blazers knocked the Nugg...

Re: Fall Camp 2019 @ the Coast

I have a feeling the trip to the beach won't be a trip to the beach. This is the year Barnum has been pointing to for the program to be relevant. There is going to be a lot of work to do to prepare for the season. I like the bonding experience but I don't think it is going to be all fun and games (m...

Interesting thought (although true). The field dimensions at Razorback Stadium are the same as Hillsboro Stadium. Only the stadiums are different. :thumb:
