Offseason 2020 (weirdest year)

Well, 2020 has been absolutely weird and that includes the transformation of Weber State Basketball. After Coach Rahes worst year leading the program and arguably, the third year in a row the program has slid a bit, Rahe decided to pull a 2007 and recreate the entire roster (he needed to get a coupl...

Re: Rahe's Legacy

Athletics at Weber is mostly funded with student fees and playing guarantees. The amount of money the department makes off of boosters, supporters, donations, and ticket sales are the smallest portion of our budget (shouldn't be the case, but it is). That's what happens when you only depend on selli...

Re: 2020 Roster

The injury to Downs was nasty. For a big guy that’s hard to come back from. And right when he was getting his mojo back he gets hurt again. I’ll be sad not to see him on the field but sometimes it’s just better to move on and heal up.

Re: 2020-21 WSU Wildcats

I agree with Olds. Granted, I’ve been known to overindulge on the purple kool-aid most preseasons.Less stress looking at the glass as being half full. I like like the additions. Like I’ve said before, mostly we complain about Randy’s inability to change and his stubbornness. Well, he’s doing things ...

Dillon Jones has signed on with us. Highly skilled, future wing player. He has a very high upside. Good get.
Great addition. I’ve really liked the spring additions. Now we need a good big to sign and Randy will be done. No random dudes from Myerscough please!!

Re: 2020-21 WSU Wildcats

I think it is safe to say it, we all agree...after this past season it’s going to be tough watching Wildcat Basketball. I think we hope for a successful season, at least I do (Randy isn’t going anywhere for four seasons) but what is the likelihood of that happening? Looking at next years starting 5 ...

Re: 2020-21 WSU Wildcats

I agree with a lot of what has been said. A. Cody John is a black hole. He never changed in the five years he was at Weber. He had a decent career and worked hard, but at the end, Weber was a much better team before he came and he's left it destitute. Good SG, terrible PG. That Cannon, Doc, Nero, we...

Re: New Transfer Seikou Sisoho Jawara

This guy just announced that he is transferring to us after one year at Loyola Marymount. He played quite a bit as a true freshman. Averaged a little over 4 PPG. He is from Spain. I have always been a little leery of European players, but he looks like he could be solid. Nothing special. I read he ...

Re: 2020-21 WSU Wildcats

With the graduation of Harding and John’s eligibility exhausted, the cupboard was empty. There wasn’t much in the cupboard anyway. With no changes Randy’s team would have been lucky to win 10 games. So, why not take some chances and go the mercenary route? It has worked before. Stan Mayhew and Stan ...

Re: Looking into the transfer portal

Mocsan is a shocking add but he’s a deadly outside shooter. I feel he’ll give the Cats depth and be an awesome sixth man. His defense has been his Achilles heal. Says something though that he gave up an automatic starting position to get out of Poky. One, maybe two more additions. It’ll be interesti...

Re: Looking into the transfer portal

Looks like WSU signed a DII scorer, Darweshi Hunter. 6 foot 5 wing scorer, averaged 20.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.9 steals as a freshman. Shot 51% from the floor at 38.5% from 3. Second highest scorer in all DII. Scored 35 points against the Wright State team that thumped WSU last ye...

Re: Looking into the transfer portal

The big kid from the UUs landed at St Mary's. Probably a good choice for him. The transfer portal is growing bigger every day and is littered with high quality players. It's also littered with guys who will end up at D11 and D111 programs. It really shows just how much of a gamble recruiting is. I ...

Re: Favorite Game of the Decade

2013 Big Sky Championship. Yes I know Montana won, and the game was in Missoula, but that was one of the best college basketball games I have ever watched. Only the 2003 Championship was better. Weber had a chance to win that game on the road. A couple other games that were awesome. First, was when ...

Re: Dima Zdor

Dima is a good kid, but a terrible big. I mean he did start playing better further into the season, but the kid never thought he was a C, but a SF. Worst of all, he was soft, not a good defender, and always out of position for rebounds. He just looked lost. Worst of all, I swear he had crisco on his...

One of the greatest Weber State sports fans passed away on March 9. If you knew Paul, he was an incredible guy. One of the most positive and fun loving guys I've ever met. He was always up for a conversation; especially if it was about Weber State sports. He passed away after an 8 year battle with c...

This painted the picture that only FBS teams matter. To me he seems like a really smart ...

Linder just accepted the open job at Wyoming. If UNCO wants to maintain its level of success, then Smiley definitely should get the job. I was hoping that Smiley would end up being our next coach. Maybe UNCO will Schrute it and hire Duft. We can only wish!!

Judah Jordan will be entering as well This is a loss, but, as a friend always says, if there isn't anyone here that can develop, why stay? Jordan is a good basketball player and should have gotten, at least, 10-15 a game and probably more at the end of the season. I mean, we weren't good anyway, so...
