Local TV Sports News is Pathetic

After the headlines on Monday were all about Weber being ranked 2nd in the nation and having the conference POW in Bronson Barron, while also mentioning SUU and Dixie's Football games, on Tuesday the top stories, I'm assuming fed to them by the UUs and BYUs, were about the UUs having a schedule 6 mo...

Re: UNCo at home to finish

Just want to see the team back to shooting better. Get the Nest bad shooting vibes out of our system. The UNC games are always a fight and I expect nothing less this time around. Here's hoping we can finish out strong. Yeah, I expect a spirited competition as well. Both coaching staffs like one ano...

Re: Spring 2021 Big Sky Weekly Picks

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.si.com/.amp/college/2021/02/28/officials-miss-made-field-goal-eastern-washington-idaho-bad-call I don’t know where to post this but this is unbelievable. That was a bad call, but in the end it meant very little to the outcome of the game as Idaho won by 7. Yeah it s...

UNCo at home to finish

I have watched UNCo play a couple of times this season. They have good guard and wing play, but may be a bit vulnerable in the post. They have one of the best wings in the conference in #13. I think his name is Hume. That guy is a threat anywhere on the floor. The other thing I really like about thi...

Re: Last Conf roady to Sac

These 2 games were closer than I thought...we played about as good as we can (minus the atrocious free throw shooting).....I don't know if we had a time out left at the end but if we did, Katz screwed up by not calling it when our last bucket went down...he could have set up a defense to at least u...

Re: Six Years Later: Big Sky Neutral Site Tournament

I could see a hybrid approach working out better for everyone.

Play the first two rounds on the home floors of the higher seeds. Play the final 4 at a neutral site.

OR, better yet, don't play the thing at all. Just send the champion to the dance. :coffee:

Re: Last Conf roady to Sac

Looked to me that we didn't come to this game with a focused mindset. Felt more like going thru the motions without emotion, until near the end when they did buckle down and get the job done. We have a horrible second game of the weekend against the same opponent record. I predict it will take a lo...

Re: #2 Weber State @ Pocatello State 2/27/21

I just read the Standard’s article from Hein interviewing ISU’s beat reporter. ISU is replacing 9 starters on offense and 8 on defense. I didn’t realize they were replacing so much this year. Basically their wide receivers, o-line, d-line, and secondary are brand new. Even if we have some growing p...

Re: Last Conf roady to Sac

Katz always has his team playing D at a high level. They rarely get blown out of any game because of it. The defensive philosophy is so similar at our two schools that it makes these games a dog fight. Our games often go down to the wire. Weber wins at a higher rate because we tend to have better of...

Re: #2 Weber State @ Pocatello State 2/27/21

McMillan listed as 2nd RB. Expecting big things out of him, but still a surprise to be listed ahead of Smith and Jackson at this point. This really didn't surprise me. McMillan is a very talented running back. So are the others as well. This depth chart can and will change from week to week. We are...

Re: Volleyball Rolling Right Now

Not sure if anyone here watched, but the two volleyball matches in Greeley this weekend were pivotal. Especially the second match yesterday. Wildcats down 2 sets to none to defending champs Northern Colorado. Come back and win 3-2. This team is going to compete for the conference title again this y...

Re: #2 Weber State @ Pocatello State 2/27/21

Anyone know if a starting QB has been named? Tune in on Saturday. I wouldn't be surprised to see them both play. I also won't be surprised to see 4 or five RBs play. I'm excited to see some of the new guys play. We should be improved in our TE play, our WR play, our QB play, our OL play, and our se...

Last Conf roady to Sac

You can take the fact that Sac is in the bottom half of the conference and throw it out the window. Sac is a tough team and this is a tough road trip. Sac is one of the better coached teams in the league and they play some of the best D. Every year they get up to play WSU. It's like the playoffs for...

Re: How it goes down in Boise?

The possibility of teams not being able to play due to Covid-19 protocol is always there. With that in mind and 11 teams, potentially, being in the field, planning this out becomes a nightmare. You would have to have a plan for all numbers of teams 0 to 11. IMHO, you have one plan and stick to it. ...

It should be a great Saturday on Pluto. We can watch the MBB game at Sac and then the FB game at ISU. That's a lot of viewing. I'll probably have to have the Pie deliver some pizza. :coffee:

Re: NAU in town..., Hopefully

NAU came out with a lot more fire defensively. I thought our D was consistent as well. Cam Shelton did not play a lot of minutes and didn't seem to have his head in the game when he was in. I don't know what was going on with him, but something wasn't right. He didn't even warm up with his team. We ...

Re: NAU in town..., Hopefully

My opinion is that NAU is a much better team than what we saw last night. Yes we are more talented, but NAU had a lot of rust to shake off. It will be a more competitive game on Saturday. We will still win if we play the same sort of D, but the game should be a little more competitive. NAU has some ...

Re: NAU in town..., Hopefully

I would like to point out that the refs we got were excelent. They let players play and only blew their whistles when they had to. It was refreshing to see. The best officiated game I've seen in a long while. I don't think they went to the monitor even once. I hope we get that crew again. :thumb: :t...
